China is still a rouge nation that needs to be slapped down. They constantly flaunt international laws and do what they damn well please then complain to high heaven when they are caught. Instituting a full trade embargo on China wouldn't bother me a bit. Maybe some of those manufacturing jobs might return to the U.S., or at least the Americas.

That would be like my trying to slap down a 600 pound gorilla who was stealing bananas from my dining room table. Theortically such an attempt is justified. In practice it would likely result in a trip to the hosptial. . . if not to the undertaker! AzWm

If they could, they would eat every last fish in the sea and every animal on land. Most bird and animal species in China are either extinct or heading in that direction. As only one example of 100's, The stupid shark fin soup trade that they fuel has decimated shark populations World-wide. America is the greatest country in the World because we overcame a similar ethic that drove us early on. The example would the "wild wild west" ethic of exploiting seemingly unlimited resources and conquering of the natural world. I don't have to bring up examples of our past such as rivers catching on fire, or shooting buffalo out of train windows to reduce food source for native Americans etc. etc..

AzWm I disagree that in regards to what UW said that the type of government currently running China has anything to do with it. It is a cultural issue that has gone on for thousands of years. They call themselves the "Middle Kingdom" for a reason. They believe that they are the center of the universe and that ANYTHING they do is correct. The Chinese as a people believe that they are superior to all others.

Convoluted and complex to the point that a real discussion on a forum like this would get too involved and the time lapse between exchanges would make it near impossible to hold even your own train of thought in the channel that you were going on let alone follow the logic in arguments of other posters.
