Does the "high choice" suggest their interest level in our school?

Does the "high choice" suggest their interest level in our school? Good question. I'd assume, these players fit the "SDSU Player Recruit Profile" = high character, high academics, high skillset, high production. Typically, a player everyone else wants. We're getting into P5 recruit territory here. Oldie Out

We don't even recruit Florida, so unless a 4-star CB from Florida called our coaches out of the blue he wouldn't even be on our radar. It's possible, but seems odd.

Yes, 4 star players do contact (tweet) our coaches for a look/see to get on our coaches' radars. At the same time, not all 4 star players will fit here. Oldie Out

We have a lot more players seeking us out - anybody in our classes not from the SW US did seek us out, but none have been 4-stars. 3-stars, YES, but a kid rated as high as the kid from FL listed - no. As much as I'd like to believe we're being contacted by a 4-star out of FL or even PA I've never heard any coach say that's the case. Hence why that seems an odd additional to our supposedly list. If he has a connection to SD, So-Cal or even TX that I'm unaware of, then that would make more sense.

He did mention that 4 star players have visited, wanted to come here... but didn't fit. Oldie Out

Guys WE contacted, and typically early in the recruiting cycle before they've been rated as 4-stars (although some later). Several in fact. However, I've never heard of any 4-star contacting us from outside of the areas we recruit & say "recruit me - I want to go there". Not unless they're a local product who moved, or they have some connection to SDSU in their family, etc. Most 4-stars outside our recruiting zone are overwhelmed by schools reaching out to them - they don't bother to reach out to G5 programs. PS. Just noticed he played north of LA last year which is the connection, not FL.

Another great reason to form a New Conference - with Houston and TCU from Texas and UCF and USF from Florida .
