He was a sleeper and sort of blew up late. I'd put him in the soft commit category and just hope he doesn't get poached. North Texas just offered.

Once I commit, its for better or worse.

Very difficult to really know the difference between a 2 star and 3 star recruit . Also what guys really fit into what system . Are Aztec coaches looking for WR 's that can block more then extend the field on pass patterns,or what guys can fight for the 50/50 balls? Not every recruit fits into every system ?

Every one of our commits is a 3* by at least one of the recruiting services. Our WRs HAVE to be physical and block, as well as be solid route runners and receivers.

I wouldn't mind a little more 'separate and catch,' even if it means sacrificing a little 'physical and block.'

Once I commit, its for better or worse. then you're a rare breed. If I got offered a job at $X, took it & then was offered another at $X + 50% I'd jump in a heartbeat. If I got engaged only to find out she was sleeping with someone else I'd yank the engagement pretty quick. Doesn't mean you're flaky, just that the situation changed as you got more information. Where I do agree with you is if someone KNOWS they're going to take another visit elsewhere (i.e. North Texas) then why commit? You're admitting you're still seeking more info, so why not wait until you make that visit before committing? Anyway, good to see him commit, but as long as they have other visits scheduled then they're definitely a soft commit.

So as we can see some fans want WR's that can block - or that has been the offense we play . While others want either the possession WR or guys that can stretch the field .? Not easy getting those guys if we do not throw the ball that often ? Will this be a year where we do try to go more balanced attack say 60/40 run / pass or ??
in basics the system is set up as a verbal agreement , a recruit likes a certain school unless he gets a better offer . . Verbally says he thinks this is a good match but .... As pointed out , people go on interviews when looking for a job and say they like a company , but continue to go to the other interviews . then take the best offer or what they think is best. Same thing here .unfortunately P5 vs G5 .

We have been successful winning the MWC two years in a row with a pro style heavy on run. No doubt it would be great to get better production in our passing game to compliment the running game. Need receivers who can catch the ball and create separation and of course QB needs to deliver. Chapman has won two league championships and he's only a sophomore. Aztecs will be better next year. Go Aztecs! Things look bright in football.
