According to Scout this morning.....Massaman Bogoyoka (sp?), 3-star OT, 6'6" 300lbs, rated the 5th best OT in Calif. He is from Bishop Alemany HS, Mission Hills and made the commit on the 11th. Nice job. Looks like we are securing the talent regardless of decision of Durant.

Durant is signed and is staying right? He is more of a player that could play right away at one of the tackle positions. This Bogoyoka kid is a good signing.

Nice get. I bet the staff knew Durrant was flimsy at best & made a major push for this guy.

Another big body to open holes for our tiny talented backs.

The downside of the "trade" is Durrant would be more likely to contribute right away while this kid will take a couple years to develop. The upside is with Durrant we'd only get 2, with 1 being a "learning" year most likely, whereas this kid will learn the system as a FR / RS FR, and hopefully be able to contribute for 3 years. Still think we need a JC OL. With our depth at TE (Wells, Houston, Warring) I'm wondering if we'll see the Brunskill-effect, and have another former TE become our Team Lineman of the Year, like Brunskill? Maybe Wells - dude is large & experienced in the trenches.

Given how bad our WRs are I'd love to see Rocky/Horton go with more of a Stanford/Michigan-type look with 2-3 tight ends on the field. Will help in run blocking and will give us better pass catching options than we have on the outside. Would keep people honest because of play action.

What "bad" WRs are you talking about? Why are they bad?

Kids dad was far more bullish on SDSU than the player it now appears.

Truxton & Holder will continue to improve & should be pretty good outside; the 2 tall RS FR are going to be pretty good players (1 could have played significantly this year). I don't know if we'll be as bad at WR as you may think. We have 4 TE's, all of which bring varying talents. Warring is going to be the stud receiver, more so than Wells IMO and Houston is only going to get bigger/stronger. Add in Richardson who can spread the field (if only he had better hands) & you have 4 guys with 1 or 2 getting less PT. Wells is the dominant blocker from within those 4. Don't think it'd be a bad thing for one of them to pull a Brunskill. We ran 2 TE's quite often this year, and wouldn't be surprised if that continues. But not all 4 can play.

Chapman has not improved year over year. If he is the best we have, WR's and TE's don't matter.

place where you great divide between P5 and G5 is HS OL coming into college . The top rated P5 teams get some high quality OL that can jump into the line up or be a reserve that gets PT . G5 schools usually need to develop their HS recruits .
Our QB not that easy to develop when we are running the ball the majority of the time and then throwing mostly on third down or if we are behind . Believe Rocky has said major priority next year will be to have a more balanced attack . Teams that are primarily rushing or those that are primarily throwing have problems when they face a quality D , who focus on taking away the main weapons . How many times did we face teams that load the box and the run . Also not easy getting WR's or QB's that want to have a strong air attack to come to SDSU . What WR that wants to be involved in an offense that really throws the ball is going to want to come here to block ?
