One hundred fifty-three (153) businesses have moved from California to Texas this year through Sept. How does that strike you?

The more businesses that leave the higher the unemployment rate in California.
More and more middle class people and businesses are leaving the state every month. California is losing it's tax base, which means that those of us who are left will face a larger part of the tax burdon.
It's getting uglier and uglier in CA.

Perfectly said, Texas does not have a state income tax and is very business friendly. The state is also willing to take on the EPA and protect businesses. The Eviromental Wackos have taken over the state and businesses are leaving in huge numbers. If it were not for the military San Diego would be in much worst condition than it is.

Yup, Texass is doing just great. tinyurl.com/2b2y8yktinyurl.com/292wr6vtinyurl.com/2bptdohNo doubt William or some other right-winger will respond that it's just a bunch of lies propagated by the "liberal media" but the simple fact is Texass is most likely in at least as bad shape as California and in part that's because they offer ridiculous tax breaks to corporations that move there. The Southeast did the same thing (along with anti-union labor laws back in the '50s) and gained a lot of New England factory relocating, but all those jobs are now gone because even with the anti-labor sentiments in the South, there's no way they can compete with the near slave labor that's found in China and Southeast Asia. It is incredibly stupid to assume that movement from one state to another cures anything. As soon as corporations get big enough, they will move their manufacturing operations out of California, Texass or any other state in this union because labor is massively cheap in Asia. It amazes me that the right-wing can't figure that out, but OTOH, the right-wing really doesn't care if jobs are shipped overseas because they don't really give a rat's ass about the American worker. =Bob

Are you prepared to defend yourself from the Terminator? Even though he is as old as me, I would not want to argue with him.

Even though he is as old as me, I would not want to argue with him. He signed the biggest one state tax hike in history. He is a social liberal. He's a Democrat at heart. And I'll take the Terminator on any day. He wussed out when the workers unions started criticizing him in '06, so he clearly doesn't have the fortitude in real life that he showed on screen.

I guess you people have not been keeping up with the news. Texas is currently suffering from a late starting, serious, budget crisis. Yes Texas, home to all those wacos, is suffering, just like California. Word is, that their crisis will be worse. And they do not have any "Evironmental Wackos". They do have secessionists though and everybody knows the best way for Texas to be patriotic is to secede! So, all of those emigrants will be coming back to California as Texas goes into the toilet, albeit late. LOL God! I love dashing conservative wet dreams. ;D Incidentally. My father in law lived in Texas. The house he owned cost 256,000. The property taxes on that house amounted 6,850.00 per year. And he had the privilege of living within sight of Cuidad Juarez, the fun and sun capital of the southwest. I can see all you "I won't pay any tax, Texas is heaven" people, dumping in your drawers about that. www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/dn/latestnews/stories/1024dntexbudgetmess.274b11d.html

Texas has an unemployment rate that is much lower than California and it is going down. California's is much higher and going up. This is due to California being very hostile to business. Business is jobs. California is hostile to jobs.

Business is jobs. California is hostile to jobs. It is the budget in California that sent the corporations away and set off the conservatives, correct? That is why you hate California. Is it not? You are absolutely correct about the unemployment rate though. The Texas unemployment rate is about 8.2% and it is going down. But the budget woes may have an effect. That is if Texas doesn't secede. ;D You can live there if you like. I have been to Dallas and El Paso and I'll pass. There is a lot of humor in Texas, though. I was entering a toll way in Dallas, in a four cylinder rental dog, which was temporarily marked and confusing. I was just in front of a buttoned down type in a $90,000 BMW. Apparently I was not going fast enough for him. He honked his horn and I looked back at him. He looked like he was having a stroke so I started laughing. He saw me laugh and became absolutely apoplectic, gesturing and all. I wanted to get off the LBJ and on the George Bush in an effort to continue to enjoy his temper tantrum, but alas, I was on the clock. ;D
