Only difference is I had to be 56 before I got that. How old does a lifer have to be to get 2.5? Pooh retired at age 38 after spending 20 years floating on boats and ordering supplies. Yup, that's really offering the best fiscal scenario. =Bob For some reason I think win was a kiddy cruiser. You are right and if Bob knew about "constructive time" and how much credit I got for serving day for day 22 years it would make him even greener with his misguided envy.

Bob, I agree with you that we could streamline our national defense and thereby save a lot of taxpayer money. On the other hand, it's unseemly to take personal shots at another AztecMesa member on the grounds that he served his country and took advantage of the benefits offered by the government. I'm wondering what you feel he should have done; declined to serve or, once having served and retired, declined to accept his monthly pension checks. AzWm I donated the equivalent of 6 months retirement pay to "The Wounded Warriors" year before last. I wonder if my giving that back makes =Bob any happier.

You get 2.6 percent? That's cool! I'm not bitching about that. The military formula is 2.5 percent, and yet you are bitching about that. Anyway, glad to see you back, =Perfesser. You were in your 40's when you landed that sweet county sinecure... and no "up or out" policy. Absent any criminal conviction you were tenured for life.
