Hey, waztec... You live in the beautiful Evergreen State. Is it possible that Dicks might go down? Geeze wouldn't it be a hoot if he loses and Barney Frank gets ousted? Headline: Frank goes down with Dicks! No predictions from me, but it sure would be a hoot.... www.youtube.com/watch?v=njF1z6wU8N8&feature=player_embedded

Pretty funny ad! I think he is over by Bremerton or up where Yoda lives. Well, it looks like Dicks will remain erect... er...elected. The district (WA-6) is west of Seattle, Olympic peninsula. I'm not sure if Bremerton fits into WA-6 or WA-9. The turd in WA-2 (Bellingham area) is in a tight one, along with little Miss Smelly Tennis-Shoes...

The last time that Rossi was in a race, the Dems in King County kept digging up more fraudulent ballots until Gregoire won the race for Gov. There was lots of litigation. King County is really pinko and corrupt.

King County is really pinko and corrupt. Actually Win this will be the third race Rossi has lost in a row up here. That bothers me in that he kept trying to be elected Governor twice, and lost twice, and now Senator. The fact is he's a corrupt businessman and the state has now three times voted him down for elected office. He was a state senator down in Olympia, but my gosh that was a long time ago. Hopefully he'll get the picture and slink back to his hole. There are better Republicans than Rossi up here. But for some reason he has a hold on the party proffers up here and the party can't get one of the others nominated over him. I hope they see the light and now move on to other candidates. This next Governor's race should be a good one.

I do remember lots of stink raised about Rossi, but not any specific incidents where he was shown to do anything wrong. I am sure there are some since he is a politician.

Murray beat the real-it-tor by a margin that means no recount. Rossi conceded, hopefully to a permanent exit from politics. King county is the home of one of the most intelligent well educated populations in the U.S. and they will not be overcome by a bunch of weed eaters from The Spokanus. ( I know The Spokanus for the tired, ugly old dump it is!) ;D

Are some of those well educated folks you speak of the ones that aggressively go after your "doggie bag" when you walk out of down town eateries? Seriously, Seattle is a neat town, it is just not in alignment with me politically. Spokanus? Not my cup of tea, but they sure knowhow to vote!

Spokane is, well, not the same. I have been trying to clean the Spokanus off my son (he grew up there) but it is a pernicious condition.

The sad part is the right wingnuts on here don't understand that the Tea Party movement cost the Repugnantcans the Senate as well as costing them a few seats in the House (search on Owens New York to see what I mean).
And now we have that hotty (at least by the standards of the old, white males who run the Repugnantcan Party), Michelle Bachman claiming that she deserves a leadership roll because by her "logic" she put the gavel in Tan Boy's hands.
And, of course, it's business as usual for the Repugnantcans - they'll balance the budget but won't touch defense, Social Security or Medicare while making tax cuts to the rich permanent.
I swear to God - as much as I disliked Reagan, he would indeed be considered a "liberal" under current Repugnantcan ideology (while Goldwater is now considered a flaming liberal by the idiot Neo-Cons and half-wit Tea Party idiots who now control your party).
Oh, and have fun with shutting down any and every bit of legislation over the next two years while Issa spends huge amounts of taxpayer funds trying to find something, anything, he can use to impeach Obama while the economy continues to go to $#!+.

Repubs make historic gains and liberals think it could have been better for the Repubs. It might have been better if they had backed some Rinos, but what do you gain that way in votes in the Senate? If Issa and the Repubs waste time and effort going after Obama rather than just his policy, they deserve to get thrown out in two years.

Post by Yoda on Dec 2, 2010 15:39:27 GMT -8
So I come back after a time away, and I search "Yoda", and what do I see? I see mostly that nothing has changed -- mostly this board consists of people spitting at each other -- to no effect. I didn't actually make a conscious decision to leave; I just got busy and sort of faded away for a time. But honestly, I'm not sure how much time I want to spend on a board where discourse consists mostly of "My daddy can beat up your daddy". "Oh yeah?" "Yeah!" "My daddy can beat up your daddy". "No way!!!" "Can to!" "Uh huh, my daddy can beat up your daddy". It's incessant and nothing ever changes... And nobody ever wins. And nobody's daddy ever gets beats up. Interesting quote out of Business Week, talking about how much worse things are than they used to be. "So the question is not whether our political culture is better or worse than it was in the early years of the Republic, but whether is is better or worse than it was in 1980 or 1990. And the answer is yes, it is worse. "That is because so much political information is coming from a thriving class of provocateurs, on the Internet and some cable news outlets, who have an economic stake in the perpetuation of conflict rather than the solution of problems. That's why it is crucial for voters to consider the source of what they read and hear. If there is a set ideological orientation, be aware of it, and judge what you absorb accordingly. As Moynihan liked to say, everyone is entitled to his own opinions -- but not to his own facts." I encourage you to read the entire article at: www.bloomberg.com/news/2010-11-03/our-opposing-beliefs-can-interact-not-collide-commentary-by-jon-meacham.htmlSometimes I just get tired of the fight. Oh and I don't like Dicks -- he's a labor pawn. Rossi is just smarmy in a "I think I may throw up a little" kind of way. And Patty Murray can't possibly have an IQ over 80. But as long as the extreme right controls the nominating process for the Republicans, they will never nominate anyone moderate enough to beat her. Yoda out...

Well, I suppose if you were looking for a thread in which to express your thoughts, the one about "Dicks" was as good as any. In case you didn't notice above, Dicks won reelection to his seat in the House. He will, however, thankfully be in the minority. I don't know what committees he will serve on, and it's a damned shame that Chris Cox is no longer in Congress. So... no more chances for a "Cox and Dicks" committee. But, hmmmm.... Gary Peters of Michigan squeeked by for reelection.... Maybe Barney Frank can put something together.
