This author thinks so (though reader responses are mixed)? As for me, I am undecided as to the seriousness of the Toyota "problem." My wife and I own two of their products and have been satisfied. So far, at least.
One cannot ignore the problem inherent in the conflict of interest when the government, which regulates much of the production of motor vehicles, also owns part of two major producers.
