A very unpleasant thought, to be sure, but perhaps not out of the question. Remember that miscalculations have routinely lead to the outbreak of war. Think of WWI, WWII, the Falkland Islands, etc. In this case I am thinking that Iran is counting on the U.S. to restrain Israel or, at the worst, that the Israelis would only use conventional means (bombers) to attack the Iranian nuclear weapons program. A report on this issue . . . www.nypost.com/p/news/national/bibi_not_bam_has_iran_plan_3CacWoCSSzFSqut1dniwdKAzWm

I hope no nukes by Israel, but we are running out of time before we have to do some real work on Iran. What is Obama dithering on this for?

I hope no nukes by Israel, but we are running out of time before we have to do some real work on Iran. What is Obama dithering on this for? In a way I am sympathetic toward the President; this is a terribly complicated issue. On the other hand, no one forced Obama to run. He bought this problem, along with all the others, when he took the oath of office. (Frankly, I suspect that by now he's saying to himself, "Geez, this job is a lot harder than I thought!" If he isn't then he is indeed, as the Mayor of Vegas said, "... a slow learner.") What everyone must understand is that Israel is not going to risk a second, and perhaps final holocaust. If you see car driven by terrorist, a vehicle filled with explosives but also some of your neighbors kids, headed toward you front door, what do you do? If I have a rifle I fire at the driver, even if I know the car is rigged so that it will explode if the driver is hit. What? You think I am going to allow my house and family to be blown up just because Joe and Susie's kids from down the street are in the back seat of that car? Think again. AzWm
