Wow. Awesome stats for Constantine (6'1 and 181 lbs): After 10 games, he is 213/291 passing for 2,882 yards and 36 TDs and 5 INTs. Has rushed 40 times for 171 yards and 5 TDs. Landing him would be a good contrast to the dual threat Lucas Johnson
According to Maxpreps.com, Camarillo HS (10-0 record) is ranked 11th in California, and 72 nationally

Recruiters sometimes think that certain QB's are products of the system they play and not good all-around/prototypical players. Hence the 2 star rating. But, we do more with less anyway.
Screw the ratings.

Can we be real . As of now we are basically considered a RB or even FB school . What 4 or 5 star throwing QB is seriously going to be looking at coming here .? Coaches will evaluate the visiting QB , compare him with Chapman , Agnew and the QB recruit also coming to see if he is a fit here . He will also see if this is the place for him . Also if he gets offer from any P5 school does his rating shoot up .?

Here is another guy that sdsu should look at from just up the hill from Camarillo. Cameron Rising at Newbury park. Just finished his sophomore year with these guady stats.
@vcspreps: Looks like Cam Rising will finish his sophomore season with about 3200+ yards passing, 40 TDs, 1 INT, 700+ yards rushing, 11 rushing TDs
But I'm sure he will go,Pac10. @vcspreps: Newbury Park soph QB Cameron Rising picks up his fourth scholarship offer. Add Fresno State to Wazzu, Cal and Oregon State. @nphsathletic
Their is also another QB from Thousand Oaks this year max Gilliam going to Cal.
Good,football players in Ventura county.

Would be interesting to ask a QB . SDSU won soundly and that is most important. But Watching last night's game where Smith was 12 of 19 , 3 TD's , would you be happy in that scenario ? or do you need to play for a team that throws a lot more ?

But Watching last night's game where Smith was 12 of 19 , 3 TD's , would you be happy in that scenario ? or do you need to play for a team that throws a lot more ? They want to PLAY and WIN. We offer both. We also run a pro style offense, which develops them more for the next level. Any talented QB with confidence will also know we'd pass more if they are a great talent. the issue is a) the talented QBs everywhere go P5, and b) it's harder to judge who has the brains to adapt to a pro style O, given most play dummy ball these days in HS (e.g. They just count the box and pick 1 of 2 plays). Same equation with WRs. it is a catch 22. There are more great RBs than QBs available and we get great RBs, so our best player continues to be a RB. You want your best player to get most touches. Our rep also draws linemen, which is critical.

Someone posted that Rocky said we will not be recruiting a QB this year other than Johnson.

With the current winning streak Rocky also noted the number of recruits who are coming to visit are way up . Would doubt that if a QB wanted to come for a visit that the coaches would not at least work them out . Keep winning, as the program starts to look better more recruits are willing to take a look . Lose this week end numbers drop off . Win and playing for 8-0 record vs Nevada and recruits will continue to come . Bowl game means extra practices and time for recruits to visit . Also playing in the MW Championship game adds practices and more visits . They all help the recruiting .
There still could be a lot of movement at QB for the Aztecs for 2016 . Who comes back , who stays , a lot moving pieces . Max is he back for 6th year ? JR would guess he is starter for 2016 or is transferring , who is rated better potential Chapman or Agnew ? Johnson ? ....

Someone posted that Rocky said we will not be recruiting a QB this year other than Johnson. They're not recruiting a JC QB this year - none out there who are better than what we have.
He said we might still add a HS QB, depending on how things fall out.

There are good JC qb's out there but impossible to tell if the player is better than what we have currently until they are on campus competing. The more the merryier I say.

Don't you think that there is a strong possibility that our Offense next year might be a hybrid one in that we have Chapman, Jake, the frosh QB from Texas and Johnson coming next year? They are all mobile QBs and can change the scenario. Did we really get Morgan from Air Force to be a QB coach for pro-style QBs? Don't think so.

If both come back, don't expect much change. If just DJ, expect some changes but still I-focused. As Rocky has said, there's a reason they've been recruiting more mobile QB's, BUT when your best player is a RB there's a reason that's the focus as well.

Coaches should get good idea about Chapman after this game . Smith could be waiting to get evaluations from NFL and if he wants team will ask for another year .He did not play well against the P5 teams we played. Agnew only coaches know but he was a Horton recruit. JR if he completes his class work and graduates this summer can pick his school for next year ,or even drop to a lower level if he is not at least second string . Plus the freshman QB for 2016 . DP should also get NFL evaluation but , think he wants to break numerous records at SDSU . Plus he did not have great games when we played P5 teams . So most likely next year is Pro set with some spread .do not expect the top JC QB's who want to throw a lot to look our way. If Smith , DP and others all come back could we have a decent shot at best of G5 Bowl , that BSU played in last year ?

I do not know about the coaches, but my evaluation of the QB situation for next year changed after watching Chapman play since the Smith injury. We could be putting in more spread with just what we have and with Johnson coming in. Pump might benefit as well with more snaps at the slot.
