Surprised nobody posted this. I am super geeked for this merger, starting in January 2011. More fights, more EXCITING fights, new blood, new divisions, title unification bouts...I'm stoked.

Really? Generally speaking (and I haven't paid for a PPV in over a year, shhhh don't tell Dana) the WEC puts on really exciting fights. I can't wait to see the belts unified. You're going to see guys dropping down in weight I think (Frankie Edgar at 145 comes to mind) and I think this will infuse the product with new blood. I'm very excited. Aldo vs. Penn? Sign me up. January 1st will be the first card with the WEC fighters on the UFC stage. Clay Guida vs. Takanori Gomi may steal the spotlight however.

I like the merger...adding some quality fighters, you can't go wrong.
Ryan, who do you think is Lesnars next fight? Gross over on SI.com was speculating it could be Nogueira sometime in February. I'd like to see that fight. It would be a good test for both men trying to be relevant again.
Please, no Mir-Lesnar III. That would be horseshit.
Carwin pulled out of his fight with fat Roy. Back surgery. Out indefinitely. Major setback for a guy who, six months, ago, was the next big thing in the heavyweight division.

He's still a big draw, and he can still make big money. Supposedly, he wants to fight Fat Roy: content.usatoday.com/communities/mma/post/2010/11/lesnar-pursues-nelson-carwin-undergoes-surgery/1

Brock's next fight is tough to call due to his 180 day medical suspension. Nogueira and Lesnar doesn't make a lot of sense to me. If Lesnar wins, Nog might as well retire. If Nogueira wins, Lesnar's hype train is further and further derailed. Nogueira would make for an interesting style fight though. Lesnar goes for a takedown, Nog could easily sub him from his back. Nog's guard is the best in the division.

He could be out for up to six months, but is eligible to return earlier if cleared by an ophthalmologist on his eye injury.

How about my boy Court McGee? love that tough SOB. Glad he won his first post-TUF fight.

I hadn't read the 60 day report, all I saw was the post fight 180 day. I doubt he's back before February or March in either case. And Court McGee is a really good story. Drug addiction be damned, I like his future.

I wouldn't be totally surprised if Brock were to win the heavyweight title again. He's a pretty dedicated fighter, and his fight game is still being developed.
What doesn't help is, he's already 33.

33 but with not a lot of wear and tear on his body (WWE notwithstanding)...He just needs more time and he has to switch camps at some point.

I don't think he will get cut by the UFC, I just think he does not like getting hit in the head and this fight with Cain showed him that he can't hang with the big boys in the UFC. I saw that Roy rumor as well...I think that would be another bad fight for Brock. JDS coudn't KO Roy so I doubt bock will be able to, also Roy is great on the ground so I doubt brock could hold him down. I see Roy wearing brock down and subbing him somewhere in the third (But I still dont think Brock will ever go into the octogone again).

Or he lost to an undefeated stud, who may be the best in the business? Love him or hate him, wins over Mir, Couture, and Carwin proved he belong. Get real. As for him getting cut, lol...of course not. Dana White knows Brock is still one of his biggest moneymakers....I listed those as why Brock would stick. He can still make a fortune. And, I think he is a very competitive dude who loves to fight. Dude needs work though. Particularly on his striking and defense. As for a fight with Roy.....I agree Roy could very well win that fight. He is a very experienced fighter, who is solid on the ground and on his feet.

Randy was a 45 year old LHW, Mir is not exactly at the top of the HW food chain and Carwin wore himself out giving Bock a beating. I think Lesnar needs to find a training partner who can/will give him a beating in practice so that if things don't go his way in a fight he does not curl into the fetal position like he did against both Cain and Carwin.

I agree 100%. Brock seems to have alot of problems taking a hit. But then, some fighters have a "chin", and some dont. Dude gets hit and it really seems to effect him. The final chapter hasn't been written on Lesnar yet. He could end up being a really great fighter....or a flash in the pan.

It will be this if he doesn't change his ways. He's entirely too one dimensional to be dangerous to the level of fighters that are wrestlers now. He's still a wrestler who's fighting. Wrestling is the best base to build a foundation of skills but he's chosen not to build up that foundation...
