Apparently Coach Kentera's son in law (his agent) came in to the offices of The Mighty 1090 this morning and gave management a resignation letter. Kentera has resigned effective immediately and no reason has been given.
Scott and B.R. were talking about it just now and they have no idea why he resigned.
That's a shame, because Coach Kentera was one of the very best pure sports talk guys I've ever heard. He truly knows sports and has experience in both baseball and basketball (both playing and coaching). He wasn't a slick radio guy, but he was great anyway. And he got a little more polished every year. He may have sounded like an amateur early on (because he was a radio novice), but by the time he had been doing his show for a few years he was phenomenal.
On a personal level, I've had the pleasure of talking with Coach Kentera a few times at high school football games and he really is a great guy. A nice guy. I will miss listening to him on the radio. Hopefully all is well with Coach Kentera.

Ditto. I really liked listening to him. He was a very knowledgeable guy in all sports. A really good guy. I played against one of his teams that he coached, many moons ago and he remembered my slider. Ha!!!!!
I don't think he got any respect there at 1090. Maybe he was tired of it and moved on. Wherever he goes, I'll be listening when he's on.
