This. Boise really offers very little to any conference who wishes to expand.
They (BSU)have a successful sports program, but it is still a small media market. Much as I dislike BYU, they make more sense if playing on Sundays can be gotten around.
It's hard to be nostalgic when you can't remember anything.

The issue with BYU wasn't so much playing on Sunday, the WAC & MWC worked around it, but BYUtv.
I believe it was Oklahoma's Boren that stirred things a bit suggesting the B-12 should consider expansion. I'm wondering though, if he's suggesting that his school is available and ready to go if the BIG or SEC was interested. I know OU is politically tied to OSU, and there are financial considerations for leaving the B-12. But if the BIG were to come a calling for OU and say Kansas, what would be the effect on the B-12? I get the feeling OU would really get out of rather than expand the B-12.
Big 12 has already said that they are not doing any immediate expansion, there are no good matches, but did form a group with 3 Presidents ( who knows who they may come up with ) just in case . Main focus now is getting teams in the playoffs. ISU President said he hopes they add schools that ISU can beat ,so they can become bowl eligible . OU President just thinks because of the name B 12 there should be 12 teams . Or maybe they can come up with another name for the conference . Maybe Big X just not Big 10 . If a team from the B12 gets in the playoffs , do they still want to talk expansion . There was also an article saying OU tried to get into the BIG in 2012 but was turned down , they preferred Nebraska .
Was the BYU rumor from their football coach still crying pick us for the last year . Another rumor the BIG will expand to 16 teams or more , even though their fans hate the last two expansions and wish they could go back to the Big 10. IF and big IF B12 ( or BIG X ) does expand it will be as was mentioned for Money reasons , especially related to what the TV network want in an expansion .
The big 12 will expand for TV set and Boise offers none.
I agree with this if the goal is to form a BIG XII network. Texas and the Longhorn Network is the big elephant in the room for the BIG XII conference. If that is not resolved before their GOR expires in 10 years it will be what causes the conferences ultimate demise.
Football runs the engine. I will bet in the last 6 years or so more people in the country tuned in to Boise State football games than SDSU. Certainly more people have attended their home games. And they beat quality P-5 competition in big time games, also. SDSU, what a joke.. Fans in San Diego area have such an inflated ego over nothing. We should have applied to the Big 12 when we had Marshall Faulk 20+ years ago.

No disrespect to Boise State; they have a great football program.
However, if winning was a primary factor in conference expansion why have they already not received an invitation from the PAC 12, B1G or BIG XII?
And actually, Boise State home attendance and SDSU home attendance is very similar.
