This guy is a player......And a team player.
I noticed some on another Aztec Message Board saying he didn't have a good game vs BYU.
Once again, most fans look only at how many points a guy had or how he looked scoring.
In BYU's defense game, one of their strategies was to NOT let Malcom post up and go one on one down low. They made that clear early in the game when they double teamed Malcom every nearly every time he touched the ball.
When a good player is double teamed, he must call on his basketball skills to realize that if double teamed he can help the team in other ways. Malcom Thomas did just that.
First off he used the double team to find open guys with some really nice passes. He rebounded well. And he blocked a couple of key shots in the game.
I thought Malcom Thomas had a very, very, good game.
His stat line....
Points----2
Rebounds---6
Assists---5
Blocked Shots---2
Six rebounds playing with a rebounding demon like Kawhi is very good.......And he added 5 assists. Five assists is pretty much unheard of for a center.
As for the points.....Hard to score when you are double teamed down low.
