NFL meetings this week could set course for return to L.A. for 2016 seasonwww.ocregister.com/articles/nfl-676738-stadium-louis.htmlGanis, echoing several NFL officials, questioned San Diego's real motivation for continuing to engage the NFL. “Their primary goal is for providing political protection for the political leadership there,” Ganis said. “That’s their first priority. If they get a stadium done for Chargers, great. But it’s not the first priority. The primary goal in St. Louis is to get a stadium built for the Rams and keep the NFL in town. It doesn't make (San Diego officials) bad people. It's just a different focus and they're not the first ones to have that as a primary focus.” Policy's 30-minute presentation Tuesday will focus solely on the Carson project, arguing that the stadium next to the 405 freeway solves what he calls the NFL's “California problem.” Kroenke is expected to be part of the Rams presentation on the Inglewood project. “No. 1, you've got a dilemma in California,” Policy said. “Two of the three teams in California, the biggest state in the union and all that stuff, are playing in the oldest and most run-down facilities in the league. Both of these facilities were designed to accommodate two sports, multi-use facilities. “...This is the silver bullet, you know. Two teams, L.A., you eliminated the California dilemma.”

Talks between San Diego, Chargers are all but dead"It’s looking less and less likely that pro football will stay in San Diego." "Via Kevin Acee of U-T San Diego, local politicians have “all but abandoned” hope of working out a deal with the Chargers in 2015. And so the Chargers will continue to pursue options in Los Angeles, with San Diego becoming the Plan B. But if two teams are going to move to L.A., it’s hard to imagine the Chargers not being one of them. And if the Chargers aren’t going to move to L.A., it’s hard to imagine the Chargers tolerating the Raiders and Rams moving right down the road, 20 years after both franchises left the region." profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/08/10/talks-between-san-diego-chargers-are-all-but-dead/

I'll check that out later. I like Roggin but he does like to sensationalize for ratings.
Let's just assume this is true, so the NFL's voting process is a sham. Sounds like a basis for some cities like San Diego to file lawsuits against the NFL. I highly doubt the NFL would let this kind of info get out like that.

Sounds like a basis for some cities like San Diego to file lawsuits against the NFL. I highly doubt the NFL would let this kind of info get out like that. In the Thursday Roggin show, he says that Spanos is going to sell the team after they get to L.A. because he's getting older. Spanos has stated numerous times that the team isn't for sale as he has his 2 kids working in the organization and more that want to work for the team. My point is that Roggin may have his fingers on the pulse within L.A. but seems sadly not even close on some of the facts. i.e. he's just another talking head with an opinion whether it's true or not.

Not sure what you listened to but Roggin said "that in a perfect world the Chargers would be the 2nd team". (HIS OPINION)

they may have been offered the #2 spot in Inglewood, but the reality is they will still be #3 of 3 in LA behind the Rams and Rayders and will have transformed themselves into persona non grata here with SD fans

Only the Spanoi could be dumb enough to think anyone would believe a stadium built on a former toxic waste dump in Carson could cost $1,700,000,000. Jeanie Zelasko (an Aztec BTW) and Marcus Johnson discussed the stadium situation on their AM980 show this morning. An NFL source told them Kroenke's application for approval of the move to Inglewood showed the Rams have gone the extra mile to "get their ducks in a row" as Johnson put it and the source speculated the application will be approved. Just one more indication Kroenke is hellbent on taking his team to Inglewood by hook or crook and that unless somebody with more clout than Spanos steps forward to stop him, it's going to be a done deal. Having so said, St. Louis Chargers has a nice ring to it.

With the social culture today, you have to wonder if the NFL won't make a deal to help the Raiders move to a better situation. In exchange the Raiders will change their name and thug image. The Raiders rebranding won't go over in LA, so I still think it will be Rams/Chargers and Davis may end up in St. Louis eventually selling the team.
