I decided to start a new thread on this...
#39 MJ Cage - SDSU (46%), UCLA (29%), UK (21%) #63 Nolan Narian - SDSU Commitment #110 Brandon Cyrus - SDSU (77%), UNLV (21%) #128 Justin Moore - SDSU (53%), USC (44%)
I don't think he updates the rivals rankings so they are based on a certain point in time. Narian has moved way up since then. Also, he doesn't have SDSU listed under Bailey at all, not sure why.

I tweeted him about the rankings and Bailey, his responses. aztecalum The Rival rankings will be updated in the next update as well as the forecasts for the 2017 class will be rolled out! aztecalum For Bailey, the sites I use say he doesn’t have a scholarship offer from either yet so that’s why they aren’t listed.

There is a lot of movement up and down the ratings as the guys continue to do the various events for the summer . Believe July is a very big month . Bailey is a very important guy for the Aztecs to try to land . Would also be incredible if Narain could try to get his team mate Humphries to join him at SDSU ,but not likely.

I think the only Narain teammate that would sign would be Cyrus, Humphries would be huge literally. But I haven't heard of any communications between the Aztecs and him. Twitter has Humphries reclassifying to 2015 and committing to Wichita State. Tweets mostly from WSU Shocker fans.

New Mexico thinks they are in the running for Humphries, which I don't see, but would be good for them and the conference overall. I certainly don't think we land him as there's been little to no interest from our end. I like Brandon Cyrus' game, he'd be a solid addition at the 2 spot.

Believe UNM thinks they have a chance because of their assistant coach who used to coach him in HS . Would guess if Narain asked Humphries if he would be interested in the Aztecs and he said yes , the coaches would ask him to come visit or go out to visit him as fast as possible . He can play with his back to the basket or facing it - Would be an incredible asset to the team - plays the 5/C position . Bailey would also be very important if and big IF we can land him .

In today's article on Pope getting the invite to U20 camp Zeigler mentioned again that SDSU going hard after Bailey and Cage, who both are likely to commit late summer, early fall. He also said SDSU is also after a non-5th year transfer, not sure who that might be.

Updated list where the percentages basically stayed the same, but Narian jumped up from 144 to 63. The other 3 all dropped a few spots.

Aztec coaches suggest to Zeigler that they are still on the list for Bailey SF/SG. As coaches can not talk about recruits . .
After the 2015-16 season we lose Spencer , Chol , Winston , Malik , 6-10 , 6-9 , 6-8,6-10. Narain is 6-9 Verbal for 2016
So you may want to add some other C/PF to the list Kone , Humphries ( can always hope ) ...

Not being critical in asking since I can't keep up with technology anymore but how can these types of guy possibly legitimately estimate these things all the way down to 1% one way or another? What's next, tenths of a percent?

With there be a full summer of AAU events would wait until the end of the summer to get a better read on most of the recruits . their rating will go up and down . As they go up, the Blue Bloods come up with offers and they have some very good events when they invite guys on to the campus . That is also why it is very important to get as much publicity out there, all over CA and through out the country about the JAM Center opening . It could help 2016 and 2017... recruiting. 2016 recruiting will be very important to reload ,especially the front line.

Kone's not on the list and Humphries (or any other big for that matter) would currently be a 0% based off their information. The latter is seen as a very strong Kansas lean.
Not sure why we're not showing up on Stanback's list? Believe we should be.
Then again, the accuracy of these projections tend to be very poor.

Anyone who's a 2016 prospect & probably even 2017 is already very, very aware of the JAM center by now. The coaches have been using it for over a year now in recruiting and I'm pretty sure they've already identified and have been in contact with most if not all targets for 2017 by now.

Yes recruits and donors have ben seeing renditions of the JAM Center . But seeing the actual JAM Center completed does add additional credibility , plus who knows who maybe there for it. An official opening only happens once . Why not make the most of it and try to use it to help recruiting , we could be in the mix for some quality recruits , could this tilt them toward SDSU , who knows but it surely can not hurt getting as much TV coverage or Web Sites as possible . Why not ? If Fox Sports San Diego is willing to pay to do a TV show there , maybe use the money towards paying for the Center .

But I don't believe you're going to get a new recruit to consider a program he otherwise wouldn't consider simply because he saw a brief 30-second to 1-minute sound bite on the news about an opening. Not happening in today's world. The staff is pushing the JAM on recruits. If there are players we're interested in and they haven't already taken their official visits then I'm sure they'll bring them to campus at some point in time to see the facility. More likely during an actual practice when there's more 1:1 time than any opening ceremony.
The opening ceremony is about the supporters. IMO we should use it as an enticement to get MORE investors. I know I've donated a little to the JAM center, but if I knew that to go to the opening I had to donate $XXX more or be at a certain level of the Aztec club I would probably use that as additional motivation.
Do you really think Fox would get more from their advertisers if they were broadcasting from the JAM center vs. Viejas? I don't. Doesn't make any sense.

Why not do another one of the Steve Fisher shows that Fox Sports did but at the JAM center opening ? What is the problem ?

Why not do another one of the Steve Fisher shows that Fox Sports did but at the JAM center opening ? What is the problem ? I'm sure whoever the host is will tape some of the opening & show it on the initial Steve Fisher show during the season. How does that relate to broadcasting the actual opening?
Would also guess that during the actual event Steve Fisher will be busy talking with all the guests & not doing any show.
In a nutshell... - I'm sure most if not all local news channels will be invited to attend and will show a short clip of the event on their newscast(s) - I'm sure The Steve Fisher show will include a segment on their initial broadcast, as well as highlight various areas of the JAM center throughout the season - Would expect Athletic dept will show highlights from event & an overview of the facility & post on their website & distribute as well, via email & social email, etc. - Can't see any channel PAYING to broadcast from there
But the event should be about building more donors, and thanking those who already have.
The JAM center is a recruiting tool; the JAM center opening is about alums/donors & relationships with the fans, and less about recruiting.
BTW, videos like THIS will have a greater impact on recruiting than the opening & I'm sure they're already making their way into every recruits inbox, facebook page and/or twitter feed via our coaching staff:

Nothing is for sure until it happens or does not happen. Do not see why you feel if SDSU could sell the Event to Fox Sports , it would not be a great even to televise in August while the Aztecs are still trying to recruit , set up visits by recruits . If every station say no then fine . But at least make the effort . The worst thing, is if the stations could say no thank you. How many people say SDSU AD department does not do enough to market Aztec athletics, , this is a great opportunity . Why not combine a major Thank You to Donors , even include them with clips as part of the show if they do not mind . Tape some interviews , parts of the action , show the building .....
