rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/polls?poll=3I rarely say...."I told you so", but I was just lurking over on another Aztec Board and saw that some are shocked that we are receiving votes for the Top 25. In the off season I said I thought we would get some votes for the Top 25 and probably in the first poll. Many thought I was way off base. -We are 13-5, which matches our best start in Aztec D1 History. -We have more road wins after 18 games than any other Aztec team in history. -We have played a tough OOC schedule (much tougher than most fans realize). -We have big wins over Arizona at home and against the #15 ranked team in the nation at the time New Mexico. -We have had 4 consecutive 20 win seasons and 4 consecutive post season appearances. We had our best season last year with 26 wins. Fans wondered for years why I say 20 win seasons are important. When you have 4 in a row, it means your program is solid. Then when you follow it with a 13-5 start with 8 new players, it means you have a program. 20 win seasons and post season invites (of any type) mean something to the voters and those that know the game. I don't understand what is wrong with Aztec fans (Not all, I certainly know some good ones that get it)......that they are so negative in their mind set that they can't even see what is happening right in front of their eyes. Support Aztec Athletics.....Talk UP the Aztecs in the community.......Not down.

Some folks act like losing a couple of conference road games is the end of the world. It's not. This team is as talented top to bottom as most Top 25 squads. It's not a surprise we're getting some votes.
Another thing: We struggled against TCU because TCU is a pretty good squad and they're getting better every year. Those two Eastern Euros can flat out shoot and so can #5.

On TCU yes.....When you think about that game, TCU shot 70% from the field in the first half and we were still in the game at half time.
Many teams would have been down by 20 at half against a barage like that.
