For a head coach that should be on the clock this year this "forecast" isn't exactly a ringing endorsement that the program has turned the corner under Rocky Long's watch. But a forecast is nothing more than an opinion. And given the talent level of the 2015 endeavor, I don't see much reason for excitement. That said, here's my empirical "forecast". If the program wins less than 9 games this season, Long should seriously be considered as yet another ex-Aztec football coach. Again, we will be able to have an informed discussion regarding this matter on November 29th.

I honestly don't think you are capable of an informed discussion BTW, what you posted was neither "empirical" nor a "forecast", thus fueling my doubt

Instead, it's one if the most positive and actually talks about competing for the conference title. it looks like you just wanted to spew negativity without referencing the info.

Let's just hope this new QB can sling the ball every now and again. Last years team got it done, but sure wasn't that exciting to watch.

Speaking of our defense.
"Once opposing offenses reach the 20, they face almost no resistance."
Sounds about right.

Give yourself two years on here. This forum writes itself. The same people write the same stuff over and over and over. I wish I could bet on it. I see a certain topic and would love to put big money on who will respond and what they will say. Its a predictable as a Viejas basketball sell-out. Your "ignore muscle" will get stronger...I promise.

We will have a good year if two things happen. The O line needs to come together on pass protection and a couple receivers need to step up. We will be solid on defense and will be able to run the ball again.

Is there a current list of what schools in the MW will fully fund all sports ( stipends ...) and what schools are not ?

Is there a current list of what schools in the MW will fully fund all sports ( stipends ...) and what schools are not ? Not based on what I've heard. Some are still figuring it out. Probably won't know until the next school year starts & more info is available. The one thing we do know is that schools either have or will start to use it in recruiting.
Will be interesting to see how the TCA impacts where they live? Those who live on campus have a different $$ (higher) than those living off campus, given some financial aid formulas used to calculate these numbers.

RE: COAsSomeone on the MWCBoard put this together ... www.mwcboard.com/index.php?/topic/59658-cost-of-attendance-by-school-for-the-mwc/&do=findComment&comment=1676285Air ForceThe Falcons are not offering the full cost of attendance because it's a service academy and the academy is technically a non-scholarship school under NCAA guidelines. As a result, Air Force is not part of the cost-of-attendance debate as it treats all 4,000 of its cadets the same. Boise StateThe Broncos will pay the cost of attendance in 2015-16 and will have one of the largest payouts in the nation at an estimated $5,100 per scholarship, which is the highest figure in the MW. Boise State has estimated its total payout for the cost of attendance at around $1.18 million. Colorado StateThe Rams announced this week that they will pay the cost of attendance for the 2015-16 season at an estimated cost of $654,000. The cost of attendance per scholarship is $2,400 for in-state students and $3,100 for out-of-state students, one of the MW's lowest figures. Fresno StateThe Bulldogs have pledged to pay the full cost of attendance in all sports starting in 2015-16. Fresno State's cost of attendance is estimated at $3,500 per scholarship (roughly $1 million total), which we will be fundraised for and paid out of the athletic department's operating budget. HawaiiThe Warriors have not committed one way or the other. The school estimated $1.035 million in expenses if it offered the cost of attendance to its 250 scholarship athletes, with an estimate of $3,543 per scholarship (with additional money going toward transportation costs for each athlete). New MexicoLobos athletic director Paul Krebs said they will pay the cost of attendance but did not offer a time frame. New Mexico estimated its cost of attendance at $2,700 per year, "an additional $500-$900K per year, depending upon several different factors," according to the school's press release. NevadaThe Wolf Pack will not offer the cost of attendance in 2015-16 but plans on doing so the following year. The school estimates a payment of $4,800 per scholarship (second highest in the MW), an extra $1.046 million per year (the school's total athletic budget last year was $23 million). San Diego StateThe Aztecs plan to offer the cost of attendance in all sports starting in 2015-16. SDSU hasn't settled on a final number - that is expected by next week - but has estimated the per-scholarship total at $3,659, which is the closest to the average MW payout of any team in the conference. San Jose StateThe Spartans got a one-time $1.6 million payout from the university to pay the cost of attendance for the 2015-16 season but the athletic department must figure out how to pay for the costs without university support beyond next season. SJSU estimated its per-student payout at $3,800. Utah StateThe Aggies got a $1.5 million pledge per year from the state legislature under the "Utah Wellness Program" expenditure to support cost of attendance and extra meals for student-athletes. Utah State's estimated cost of attendance payout is $3,700 per athlete and roughly $800,000 annually. UNLVThe Rebels said they will offer the full cost of attendance in football, men's basketball and women's basketball in 2015-16 and haven't ruled out offering it in other sports this year. UNLV estimated the full cost of attendance to be $4,000 per athlete. WyomingThe Cowboys will offer the cost of attendance in 2015-16, an additional $3,240 per scholarship for a total cost of $750,000-$800,000 a year. Wyoming's fundraising arm (Cowboy Joe Club) will raise part of the money; the state will match dollar for dollar what the Cowboy Joe Club raises.
