The great lakes water levels are above average and there are cries about global warming being the cause. It is enlightening because low lake levels where also blamed on global warming just two years age.
The lakes levels are high mostly because of no evaporation when lakes are frozen over, which have been the case to record extents over the past two winters. Those blaming global warming weren't clear about how much less ice there would be without global warming.

As for climate change, how can we be sure that any given hypothesis is correct and its predictions inevitable? I don't think we can be sure. Those who are convinced that the most extreme predictions are sure to come true need to explain just how humans are going to avoid that fate. I very much doubt that its possible, short of asking half the world's population to commit suicide. We know that there have been many wide swings in the climate of the planet, including ice ages followed by extreme global warming. What makes anyone believe that humans have the capacity to modify the natural process of climate change? Just as early man had to adapt to those different climatic situations, we are going to have to adapt to them as well. I mean, who the hell do we think we are, anyway? AzWm
