said this all year...when you play tough defense, create turnovers, the reward is getting the ball to the gurad in the center of the court, filling the lanes, running the ball down the opponents throat.scoring quick...or teach the big men to post up..not looking for your point guard to walk the ball up the court and start the dribble dribble dribble offense....This team has the talent to transition quick,,,,,but...coaches do not know how to teach it....

absofreakinlutely one of the worst played second halves in several years. no hustle, no desire, minimal interest in the game, horrible shots, watch the bsu players jump while you suck your thumbs, day dream on d, worry more about where you'll go in the draft more than winning, just plain dismal. Sad, but the truth. Seemed like no one cared.

no one on the team or staff stepped up in crunch time . their coach put Webb on JJ , took him out of the game . Got out rebounded ,they box out and hit the boards , they also make FT's . . they pass ,set up players for shots , move with out the ball , we stand around then force shots ,that we do not follow . Had them up by 7 or 8 and could not finish .

One of the most lack luster games I have witnessed in awhile ... We were out rebounded badly and they made more free throws than we took. Missing in this game was the slashing drives to the basket and telegraphing the fact that we were going to run the offense through JJ didn't help at all as their defense knew that was our plan and played us accordingly. We didn't impose our will at all and some of the personnel groupings played as if they didn't know each other at all.
Having said all that, we have obviously have some work to do as we're still going to the tourney barring some epic meltdown in the last 2 regular season games at UNLV and home against Nevada.

The Aztecs do not have a point guard. That means they really have to work hard for their open shots and let's face it, when they get them it isn't exactly an automatic bucket.
Boise is playing well right now, they deserved to win and will probably be the other MWC team in the NCAA's this year.

Feel like I watched a completely different game than you guys.
I saw lots of hustle. We got painfully out rebounded... but that's happened before even when we've won. What I saw was that we hit our normal 15:00 - 5:00 slump... go back and look, you'll see it happens in TONS of games... and we just couldn't manufacture a bucket inside of 5 feet of the rim. Even if we went 50/50 on those easy baskets [the ones we want!] than we win the game.
But I didn't see a lack of caring or lack of effort. I think it's flat out disrespectful to say that. A lot of our guys have bruises all over because they were diving for and winning lose balls.
This game reminded me very much of the BYU game from a few years ago. We wanted to beat them so bad, it was an important game. But for whatever reason we just didn't get it done on our home court.
This is an NCAA team, anyone can see it. With your support I think they are a Sweet 16 contender. Put a little faith in your players. They are working hard, they are playing well. They took their lumps tonight but have the chance to get their sweet revenge in 2 weeks.

Adam, I didn't see a lot of that after about the 10 minute mark of the 2nd half when Boise went on that ridiculous run.

That 15-2 run Bozo St. made after the 10 minute mark was the difference. The team had no way to stop it except to put up what looked like desperation shots with all kinds of time on the shot clock. It was terrible, and it fueled the Bozo State run. You've got to have someone who can stop the bleeding with a strong layup. We apparently didn't have that person on the court during the run.

Look what they are doing with zero to two star players. Wait until Paris Austin and other undervalued recruits come at us.

It was a frustrating game.
We had it up until 11 minute point in second half.
We stopped making shots and could not get the offensive boards.
They made shots, free throws and took care of the ball.
This one will piss me off for quite some time.

Not out hustled…out shot. No team in NCAA can win by putting up under 50 points. So agree. In the first have they got stuck on 17 and allowed Boise to crawl back in before half. In the 2nd they had 39 with 11 minutes to go and proceeded to score 7 the rest of the game. As a matter of fact they were outscored 24-7 over the second part of the 2nd half. It's just pathetic and impossible to end another teams run. In the end they should be ashamed of this result considering all that was at stake. Boise is a team. Sdsu is a bunch of me first players. This is a coaching issue they created this mess they need to fix it

Then why does he recruit SGs and convert them to PGs? Both Kell and Quinn are playing out of position and I truly feel it affects their offensive production, which is something we've badly needed since the season started. Their shortcomings at the point are exposed against the better teams. It bugs me to see single digit assists. To me that signifies lack of court vision and a one dimensional offense. Both Williams (who's also a good defender) and Zabo are true PGs. Do we really need them to score if they can distribute?

They had a week to prepare and came out like this? Goodbye auto bid. Pretty sad, my friend. And in front of your home fans to boot. Obviously, you could see which team wanted it more. This team lacks heart, character and leadership. From the players to the coaching staff. This. Was at the game. When Shepard scored and then childishly zoomed down the court like an airplane instead of getting back on defense like a man (thus raising Dutcher's ire in the act), I was done with it.

From the very start. How in the world do you allow a much smaller, much less athletic Boise State team to beat your ass on the glass time, after time, after time, after time. WTF!!!! Where was the effort and intensity on the damn boards???!!!!! Boise may be a better shooting team(who the hell isnt), but in NO WAY should they EVER, EVER be able to out hustle and out work a more athletic Aztec team on the boards. Truly an extremely and equally gutless effort by the Aztecs tonight. Truly disappointed in their effort, toughness(or lack there of) and hustle on the boards tonight. Most frustrating team I have seen in the past 5-6 years. Truly not a very good team to say the least. Disappointing. You lost me at much less athletic. Marks and Webb are 2 of the more athletic guys in the conference. The only unathletic guy they have did nothing against us. Don't discount how good BSU is playing right now nor had talented and athletic they are. We should have rebounded better and they did out hustle us. Don't disagree. Just don't short change a good team who frankly needed this game more than us. They were very hungry and Webb was very determined and us an incredible athlete.

This one will piss me off for quite some time. It ruined my night that's for sure. A very frustrating game, especially obviously the 2nd half but we wasted all kinds of opportunities to go way up in the first half with giving up all the offensive rebounds. The terrible shooting is painful to watch also, that game was rough man.

I would not expect that a team with only 5 assists in a game would win very often.

Being undefeated at home was going to end sooner or later, but I thought it would be a P5 team from next year's schedule, not this year! Ok, well the unbeaten streak ends, but we did get out hustled as you say. Very surprising to see us standing around on offense also instead of moving more. Many times when a ball came off the rim it appeared like we were the opposition just standing there looking at it instead of going after it! I guess it was bound to happen sooner, or later, but no one expected it to happen at Viejas this year!
UNLV will be watching this game over & over you can bet to get some pointers for Thursday. Hopefully, we will be ready for them at the Mac!
