You're kidding, right? You realize EVERY school does this, and they should since kids tend to commit early just to save a seat at the table but then spend the next 2-3 months looking for something better. About 10-20+ kids decommit per day & go elsewhere.
EVERY school poaches. They have been for years.

if we think flipping is bad where we sit G5, it is even worse for the P5 schools . Until there is an early decision binding admission it will get even worse . We still have the battles here between the MW and PAC schools where a guy may have an offer here then the PAC come in and flip them . Big Business at its finest or worst . We say NFL is a bad deal with its 32 owners how bout the P5 with 65 big money programs , keeping others out and set new rules .

Swimming with the Sharks / Recruiting . The key to producing a quality team . If you can't do it no matter how good of a coach you are then you are not going to have a quality team . Need quality players .

Amazing that anyone would bristle at this baloney. Most of the P5 HCs would lie to their own moms if it would help get a top recruit. Their is no honor amongst these thieves. Every recruiting season the P5 coaches and recruiters wait until the 11th hour and if it looks like they need a 3* kid they scan the verbal lists for the G5 schools and use the G5 recruiters hard work and scouting to their advantage. They drop last minute scholarship offers on recruits and trash G5 recruiters commit lists. It's old news.

Have an early signing date that is binding say the third or fourth Monday in December . What does a verbal actually mean any way ? I will go to your school unless I get a better offer . As always the rich get richer .

As always the rich get richer . That's definitely a proposal that's on the table & hopefully a direction they go. Think they were looking at October/November.
It's one of the things I like about BB recruiting. Many of the kids commit early & don't have to be harassed their entire season by coaches poaching. (of course instead it's 2016 recruits but that's a different animal & argument). However, if you're going to implement an early signing period then I think all LOI's should be NULL and VOID if their HC and/or (for football) position coach is let go or leave.

Being a college coach in FB or Basketball . Half the job is recruiting and the other coaching . You better enjoy and be able to recruit or your chance of being a successful coach is not very good . You need the players to succeed . Not sure how much our previous OC's enjoyed recruiting - the key to having a quality offense , QB and OL .

You need the players to succeed . Very true; some would argue that's 80% of the job. Before you can mold someone you need to start with the right clay...
