A pretty harsh judgment, to be sure, but there is ample evidence pointing to the fact that the current administration is set on putting in place extremely anti-libertarian policies and mechanisms. Anti-libertarian if not down right fascist. Again, I do not use the term fascist lightly. This will not be the fascism of goon squads roaming the streets looking for heads to bash. Nor will it be the fascism of concentration camps or gas chambers. No, it will be a much smoother, much more slick-talking version which, ultimately, has the goal of severely limiting the freedom of the nation's citizens in the name of "social justice" and "progressivism." Well, read this piece for more details, including the scary results of the totally dishonest health care bill not being proposed. Personally, I do not endorse everything in this article, especially in the second half (in which remedies are proposed). In general, however, I think the problem has been well portrayed by the author. spectator.org/archives/2009/12/30/washington-knows-best/AzWm

The most disturbing thing about our current circumstances is that our elected officials are ignoring the will of the people that elect them. They are going about the business of government and damn the people who out them there. Lets hope that the reversal begins with the 2010 elections.
