The Oracles hope the Zags lose by 10+. Oracles Out Really? ANOTHER "oracle" handle on AM? What is that now, three? Four? And all refer to themselves in the 3rd person? [eye-roll] The silvershark finds this amusing. Bear down Arizona...Make the Aztecs look good. Sent from my Admiral Mark 01 Telegraph machine via Sputnik with dial-up

This guy is actually hilarious. Maybe he should change his handle to "the monocle" or maybe "the bifocal". Good idea Sent from my Admiral Mark 01 Telegraph machine via Sputnik with dial-up

What's clearly becoming apparent to me is our big people don't like to mix it up. Translation - Spencer, Shepard & Polee while excellent defenders, avoid contact when it comes time to rebounding. I believe the Aztecs have the talent to get to the final four. I also believe they won't beat really good teams (i.e. two top 10 quality teams in a row) until they resolve their rebounding aversion.

I think the word is soft. Someone that isn't soft is Angelo Chol, but he makes too much contact (foul prone). We need our players to be more aggressive. Other teams will exploit this.

Well they will need to do something. Playing like that won't get us deep, deep like Elite 8 or Final Four playing like that.

Agree! I'm ok with the poor shooting & even SOME turnovers. The rebounding is want & desire. Not saying it will even get resolved.

This is going to be a really good game, Gonzaga has looked great so far. IMO, Gonzaga are paper tigers year in and year out, until proven otherwise. Every year they look like perennial world beaters during the regular season. Then, come tournament time, they look like the best team in the NCAA Tournament in the round of 64. Then, in the round of 32, they flame out. Same trend has happened the past 5 years or so. Don't get me wrong, I have a lot of respect for their program and everything they have accomplished. 14 conference titles in the past 16 years is very impressive, as well is their 16 straight NCAA Tournaments. However, until they get over the hump by getting to the final 4, or @ the very least the sweet 16 or elite 8, I continue to have my reservations concerning them. With that said, my tone will change, however, if they end up beating Arizona. I agree with you on the Zag recent history. I think they are usually a bit thin, and unable to play several tough teams back to back to back. I love Gary Bell's game. Pangos is good also. I thought they were seniors when I saw them at Viejas last season. Still, I am rooting for the Cats.

Rebounding has been a problem. Not boxing out, bad positioning. I believe this will be rectified. We have the players to fix it. Skylar will have to take his game up, get the ball, chase it like your life depended on it. That's the way Josh Davis went at the boards.

Tie game at the half. Zags were up by six with about 2 minutes to play and Az. picked up the defensive pressure and tied the score. Johnson has looked like a freshmen in the first half, lots of fouls and turnovers, and not good shot selection. Reminds me of our game, especially the last two minutes of the 1st half. There is a bit of a difference in this game and ours against Zona. The Zags have had time to prepare to take Johnson out of his game, we played 3 tough games in 3 days. Still, GO CATS

With the exception of Chol thus far, the Aztecs seem to be playing pretty tentatively on the glass. They really need to get more aggressive on the boards. Starting tomorrow vs the Huskies. Washington has a solid big down low in Upshaw, who will get his fare share of boards and blocks, but as big of a presence he is down low, he looks rather slow and unathletic. No reason the Aztecs wings can't out hustle their bigs on the glass, as well blow by them driving the lanes. Key words are hustle and effort. Must play with the same kind of intensity on the glass they played with in Maui.

Our boys need to become men? Yes we do. Pope took down two rebounds in a row and had them stripped. Too bad he couldn't have spent some time around Josh. Now, that dude was a man rebounder.
