The particular event that has inspired this piece is the ObamaCare bill. However, the more general and, ultimately, more important consideration is the tension between individual liberties and the power of government working to limit those liberties in the name of "rights." Along these same lines we receive on Xmas eve the notice that we will get no cost of living increase (which I agree with) due to the lack of CPI increase. That is also good news. Now why is it that I have trouble with hearing that the ObamaKare bill, which increases our taxes to fund other peoples health insurance on the same day, is troubling and more than a little bit kind of ironic?
