Nice game last night Aztecs.
These kind of games makes sports so fun!... that's what college athletics are all about.
Great plays, great players, good calls, Bad calls, controversy. .... you know what? It's games like these that make teams into "rivals".
All this emotion from both fan bases... about these games when these two teams face off for bball? ..... priceless.
Last night, the BYU announcers said that apart from Utah, SDSU is BYU's main basketball rival. Nice.... it's about time they recognized that. These two teams need to play each other every year.
Fun game last night. Congrats to Aztec team and fans. Best of luck for the season.

I try to not use bad language around my kids. My 16-year-old daughter watched the game with me last night. She got an earful! I kept explaining to my wife and father-in-law and daughter that I cannot stand losing to BYU.
BYU and SDSU are BB rivals.

We get enough elevation games in conference. I hope we only play BYU if they are willing to play near sea level. Playing at elevation with their style, gives them too much of an advantage. We don't need that. Don't schedule home and homes. Let's find a nice neutral court somewhere who would like to host us. Honda Center would be great. BYU v SDSU on a Saturday night in mid December would attract a huge crowd and we could probably sell the TV rights. Let's do that every year. No reason to let CBS/ESPN get the benefit from our greatness.

We have to play too many up tempo games at altitude, as it is.

Me too, and I also try not to let my kids hear me make any superficial comments about how someone looks, but I just couldn't help making a "damn he's ugly" comment when they showed a close up of Tyler Haws. I wasn't proud of verbalizing my gut reaction, but it sure did amuse my 13 year old daughter. It was mostly a product of frustration at the time because he was killing us. He suddenly got a little better looking when the final buzzer sounded at the end of OT #2.

BYU has been smacking the Aztecs around for decades, it was nice to get some payback with a terrific win.

NO. Anaheim. We could fill that place with BYU and SDSU. BYU would sure show up better than UCLA. And if isn't late Sunday night like the Marquette game last year, the Aztecs will do their part and more.

Regardless of what we (and other schools) may think...BYU only has one rival...Utah...
Everyone else is just an afterthought to them

Vegas is out of Southern California, also a huge BYU fan contingent there and closer for BYU to travel to.

Fun game last night. Congrats to Aztec team and fans. Best of luck for the season. It's been awhile Borg, but I'll always remember you sitting beside me at a UTE-Aztec baseball game at my darkest moment. Obviously, I'm still on this side of the grass not quite so passionate about sports as I once was, more important things to enjoy, but games against BYU and Utah can still get the adrenalin flowing. Fortunately, I've risen above getting caught up in the heat of the moment. I'll leave the trailer park trashing rants to those who readily give up the power. I'll always cherish the friends I've here in Utah, (as long as we continue to keep topics regarding politics, religion and alcohol off the table. That's when I readily give up the power). Last night's game was as good as it gets. My personal opinion, I believe both the MW and BYU could have benefited if the Cougar program had stayed in the conference. I feel the Cougar program is a program with no real direction. The MW is a conference with no real marketing leverage. It wouldn't be a solution but I believe it would put both parties in a better place. And those that would object to the idea of BYU returning to the conference need to ask themselves what their school's program has contributed overall. As usual, another classy post from a classy guy. All the best to you.

Anaheim could get a large BYU contingent. They are not just pulling from their home area.
