@sdutzeigler: Malik Pope is suited up ... and could get some minutes vs. CSU Bakersfield. About a month ahead of schedule.

Would be nice to see the team do a Kentucky and at 5 minute mark, sub entire starting 5 for Chol, Pope, Allen, Quinn, Zabo. Just for fun.

Did you know that Pope could be better than Kevin Durant?
If he's anything less I'll be disappointed.

How long until we see a cardboard cutout of the PopeMobile in The Show? Is it time for our Pope to begin his reign, let's hope so. Go Aztecs!

I'd bet more money he goes 0-3 with a turnover and we get quotes like... "I know it's early, but he looks a little like Winston out there. And that is NOT a good thing."

Simple thing for the Show to do when Pope is at the FT Line. Xavier had the fans cross their forearms at the FT line. Fans should have both hands together in a prayer pose when Pope is shooting FTs.

Glad he had a warm up against Bakersfield. Hope Pope can drop a few more against BYWho.

Very impressed with Pope's play tonight. Looks like the real deal. Moves quickly and in control. This is going to be fun. Dakarai also came to play tonight. He just flat out hustled everybody.

I thought he showed flashes of what he's capable of. Keep in mind, this was his first game of organized ball in about 2 years. It's scary to think what he can be once he gets his feet wet.

Habemus Papam!
He was clearly rusty, and probably had a few first game jitters, but there were definitely flashes of the skills that should serve him well once he hits his stride.
Towards the end of the pregame warmups, I noticed he was working on his 3 point shots all around the left side of the arc... while I was watching, he was 7 for 10. Once he shakes the rust off, he should be fine.

Great opportunity tonight for him to get on the floor. He'll dress for Maui and hopefully play some quality minutes. We need him to stretch the floor a little. Its hard to beat Zona at 32% and 24%.

When he drove to the basket and pulled out a Eurostep, I got pretty damn excited.

Once Pope starts raining some 3's, they will rename Viejas, Vatican Arena!
