How about you focus on the other 59 minutes of the game as well rather than one fluke play. They were moving the ball at will? Really? We had 457 yards of offense to there 264 yards. Define "at will" for me cause by your definition it was US who moved the ball at will. Against Washington, Hawaii had 424 yards of offense and scored 16 points while giving up 336 yards to Washington. Against Oregon St. Hawaii had 336 yards of offense and scored 30 points. Against Northern Iowa Hawaii had 378 yards of total offense and scored 27 points. Against Colorado they had 284 yards of total offense and scored 12 points. Against Rice they 261 yards of offense and scored 14 points. I say again, against us, SDSU, they had 264 yards total offense and scored 10 points. No team out of Washington, Oregon St, Northern Iowa, Colorado or Rice did what we did to Hawaii, no one. What is the deal with your passive aggressive denigration of the Aztecs effort and outcome versus Hawaii? This statement of yours is ridiculous when taking into account of the information I've just provided above. "edit: Yep, it was 3rd down, so even had it been knocked down they still would have had another play, and they HAD been moving the ball at will on that drive, unfortunately.)"Give it a rest and enjoy an Aztec win without bias, recognize effort and outcome, again, without bias. When you compare our game against all other competition Hawaii has faced this year it isn't even close to how we dominated them. Lastly, even on the fluke hail Mary pass our guys were in position to make the play and did, but the ball bounced off of McGee's body into Kemp's hands while he was on the ground. It shouldn't be forgotten that Hawaii was also missing their best player on offense.. their stud RB. But I agree, our D played well We didn't have Ruffin, and we had an injured QB. We faced Iosefa before, and while good, he didn't exactly light us up either. I don't get all the discontent for our defense. We have given up less big plays than last year, and 2 of our losses were attributable to more offense than defense. We couldn't stop Mannion and Co. but when we are 3 and out on O nearly every drive, it means we sure gave him a ton of chances.

But I agree, our D played well True, just as we were in our star WR out, and our star LB out, and our 2nd star LB just coming back off of appendectomy surgery, and our QB playing with a shoulder AC injury, and so on and so on. Using injuries is an excuse and nothing more, every team in the nation has injuries and plays on as we did.

But I agree, our D played well True, but he'd been missing since Week #2 and that didn't prevent them from averaging over 150 yards per game since he's been out nor the fact Lakalaka has the same yards per carry average as Iosefa does. They ran for 200+ vs. Wyoming, yet ran for less than half that against SDSU and even less than they have ALL season. Nor does it explain why they had by far their least productive offensive game of the season. Give credit where credit is due - our D' was stellar, and the stats would have been even more crazy had the Hail Mary been deflected rather than tipped.
