A recent "Investor's Business Daily" article provided very interesting statistics from a survey by the United Nations International Health Organization. Percentage of men and women who survived a cancer five years after diagnosis:
U.S. 65%
England 46%
Canada 42%
Percentage of patients diagnosed with diabetes who received treatment within six months:
U.S. 93%
England 15%
Canada 43%
Percentage of seniors needing hip replacement who received it within six months:
U.S. 90%
England 15%
Canada 43%
Percentage referred to a medical specialist who see one within one month:
U.S. 77%
England 40%
Canada 43%
Number of MRI scanners (a prime diagnostic tool) per million people:
U.S. 71
England 14
Canada 18
Percentage of seniors (65+), with low income, who say they are in "excellent health":
U.S. 12%
England 2%
Canada 6%
I don't know about you, but I don't want "Universal Healthcare" comparable to England or Canada .. Moreover, Sen. Harry Reid said:
"Elderly Americans must learn to accept the inconveniences of old age."

I guess "inconvenience" would include death.
Reid is such a horse's ass! I dearly want to see him gone by Jan. 2011!

I should add that rich people (and members of Congress) are not likely to have to submit to the restrictions and rationing of ObamaCare which will be facts of life for the rest of us. With enough money, those needing medical care will always find a way (legal or illegal . . . i.e., bribery) to jump to the head of the line. Or fly to another country to seek medical services, which is done even now.
That last option will become more and more popular with the rich as the pernicious effects of ObamaCare degrade the U.S. health care system.
And, with millions of new insured being serviced by the same number of physicians (or possibly by many fewer as doctors throw up their hands and retire due to even lower Medicare reimbursement), taxing of medical devices, and other goodies in the Democratic "reform" bill, the U.S. health care system will indeed decline. Count on it.

PS: I'm still waiting on those who have opposing views to point out where I'm going wrong.

I think that the mounting evidence against Obama and liberalism is quieting the liberals on here and it will remain that way until a few of the smarter ones start to see the light and become vocal in opposition to what is going on.
