If anybody is coming from Sac, instead of heading over I-80 and having to worry about chains maybe consider taking Hwy 70 through Oroville through the Feather River Canyon, through Quincy and heading to Reno that way. Weather isn't going to be that bad on that route. I-80 is a b1tch in the snow...

Weather isn't going to be that bad on that route. I-80 is a b1tch in the snow... I will take that into consideration. I am checking to see if I can head out early Friday, if the snow doesn't hit there quite yet. That 2 hour increase doesn't sound appealing quite yet.

Looks like its going to be around 30 degrees Sat night. I've never watched a game in weather that cold.

Nevada fan here. The Little Waldorf is the main pre- and post-game hangout, and is (more or less) across Virginia Street from the stadium. The current winter storm warning goes from Friday night through Saturday morning, so plan accordingly if you're heading up during that time. We'll have fire pits and beer at our tailgate in the RV lot north of the stadium, if you'd care to stop by. Just look for this trailer and someone will welcome you in.

What hotels are the best? Grand Sierra is pretty nice. I like it at least. Thats where I'm staying.

What hotels are the best? The GSR is nice enough (in my admittedly limited experiences there), and is across the street from a Wal-mart for any supplies you might need. The ones I'd suggest are either the Peppermill (the closest to a Vegas-style resort as you're going to get in the region and consistently rated very high by travel sites, but a ways down Virginia Street from the stadium) or the Whitney Peak (closer to the downtown core, just opened in May, no gaming or smoking anywhere on the property and has some cool restaurants and bars).

Staying at the team's hotel to cheer on the team is always an option too.

Staying at the team's hotel to cheer on the team is always an option too. I just did the Silver Legacy. I don't know where they are staying, but unless they are going to be up all night in the casino, I doubt I would see much of them in the hotel.

Family and fans stay at the team hotel all the time, and get to see them and talk to them as they are hanging out in the lobby, walking to and from dinner, to and from meetings and cheer them on as they get onto to the bus for the game.
