Anyone watching UFC Primetime? It is like a cheap version of HBO's 24 series they have to build up big boxing matches.
I was watching episode one, and I am very impressed with Cain Velasquez. His boxing is superior to Brocks, he's a great wrestler (but not at Brocks level...nobody is), athletic, and his kickboxing is out of this world.
I knew alot of this before the show from watching him fight....but the episode reinforced some conclusions in my head.
If Brock has any weakness, in my humble opinion, it's his boxing. It's far from poor, but you can just see he is a bit more awkward with his hands when he is standing than some other top heavyweights. Doesn't mean he can't KO Cain, or anyone for that matter, because he has proven he can do some damage with his fists. I just think he needs some sessions with Roger Mayweather. ;D
I am convinced Cain is without a doubt the most serious threat Brock has faced thus far. Carwin himself was impressive, but I don't see him as well rounded as Cain.
If Cain can keep it standing, I put his odds of winning at even. If Brock can get the takedown.....it's over. He is too strong, too freakishly athletic, he's the best wrestler in the division, and he'll come into the fight with a weight advantage.
As always....pulling for my man Brock. But, much respect to Velasquez.
Can't wait for it.

Cain is much too small, in my opinion, to handle Brock. Brock will come in with the gameplan of taking him Cain down and smothering him. Standing and trading with Carwin was a mistake, and Brock knows that. Cain is a really good fighter, his hands are solid, he has really good kickboxing, but he doesn't have the pure size to matchup with Lesnar. Lesnar should be able to stop Cain on the ground.

I hope you're right. You know your $#!+ when it comes to MMA....but hey, anything can happen. Cain's takedown defense will be THE key to this fight if you ask me. It's tough to stop the big fella when he goes for the legs, I don't care how good Cain's jiu jitsu is. Looking forward to it. What beats a big heavyweight main event? Nothing!

K5,
I think you have been calling for Lesnar to lose since the second Mir fight........maybe you'll hit right on one of these.
Not this one, pal. ;D

Lesnar proved Rosenthal right in round 2, when he was clearly coherent, and won the fight. If you stop a main event between two grea heavyweights, you better be sure the big fella is defenseless. He wasn't. Just overwhelmed. Blame Carwin for not being able to finish. Cardio is an important part of a great fighter.

Cardio is even more important for heavyweights, because your gas tank is going to be tested when you're that big of an athlete. Man I can't wait for this card, really bummed to not be in LA for it.

I thought long and hard of buying tickets...but it's $125-$150 for nosebleed, $300 each for 200's section where I prefer to sit and that's just ridiculous.
I'll have a party at home for $60 (HD cost) and have a good time.....or go to the bar and pay $5 plus food and drink.

Should be a hell of a fight. I'm picking lesnar because of his size and also for that incredible speed and agility he has for a big dude. I'm gonna start a poll.

Cain will be seeing some tweetie birds circling his heads come UFC 121. Once Lesnar get Cain to the ground it will be all over.
