Part of an article by Joseph D’Aleo, CCM. A must read for anyone interested in why Climate Change is an issue. Ecologist Dr. Patrick Moore was a co founder of Greenpeace when it focused on true humanitarian and animal cruelty causes. Back then we had real issues with air and water pollution. I was involved heavily with environmental causes and got my ABD on Atmospheric Chemistry. The movement made a sharp left turn in the 1980s. Patrick Moore told the Senate earlier this year and then made a powerful presentation you can see on HCTV explaining why he left Greenpeace when radicals and extremists with other agendas (population control, eliminating fossil fuels/nuclear, destroying capitalism, one world government) abandoned humanitarian efforts and railed against man as the enemy of the planet took control of Greenpeace and most all Environmental groups. Over time they adopted global warming as a tool. Patrick wrote about the new environmental radicalism. It is a powerful convergence of interests among a very large number of elites, including politicians who want to make it seem as though they’re saving the world, environmentalists who want to raise money and get control over very large issues like our entire energy policy, media, for sensationalism, Universities and professors for grants. You can’t hardly get a science grant these days without saying it has something to do with climate change. It is a kind of nasty combination of extreme political ideology and a religious cult all rolled into one, and it’s taken over way too much of our thought process and way too much of our priorities. There are millions of children dying every day from preventable vitamin deficiencies and diseases, and we are spending hundreds of billions of dollars on a problem that may not exist. ... IPCC official Ottmar Edenhofer in November 2010 admitted “one has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate policy is environmental policy.” Instead, climate change policy is about how “we redistribute de facto the world’s wealth...”

Moore has been pulling pay checks form the biggest polluters on the Planet for over 20 years. One of his biggest clients is Asia Paper and Pulp. The biggest clear-cutter in the World. Of course you knew this. He has zero credibility in the science and biology world. Green Peace has also never had any credibility in the scientific community. They are equivalent to FOX news, but on the other side. Of course Moore is a darling of FOX, the right-wing audience is another source of cash for him.

Does money make people's word not reliable. What about all the scientists who absorb the billions of dollars from the US Government and massive amounts from Big Green?
His account about green groups becoming fronts for "use to be" communists is exactly right. They see global warming as a level to get what they want through different means.
Real Polluters love CO2 phobia because it takes all the air out of the room that would otherwise be used to attack real pollution.

Who are the "real polluters" and which ones has Moore gone after in the last few years? Who do you identify as the "real polluters"? Can't wait for the answer.

The #1 pollution problem in the world in indoor pollution from cooking on wood/coal burning stoves in 3rd worlds. This causes millions of deaths from respiratory problems. The #2 pollution problem in the world is dirty water in the 3rd world which kills 1.5 million children a year. Big Green loves those people dying because they are scared shitless about a population explosion that is not happening. They would rather try to gather power by fighting made up problems in the 1st world because that is where money is made and power achieved. Moore has worked on those pollution problems.

Let those others die in the millions from real pollution and not a word. Big Green is about changing capitalism not about real pollution.

What the hell is "Big green"... and why do you include everybody (in the science community, biologists etc.) in "Big green" except the far Right? You know Teddy Roosevelt ditched the secret service for 4 days to go hike the Yosemite with John Muir (despised by the far right of course). Would you like to chip him out of the mountain? You are in a cult dude.

Groups like Defenders of Wildlife Environmental Defense Fund Greenpeace National Audubon Society National Wildlife Federation Natural Resources Defense Council The Nature Conservancy Sierra Club The Wilderness Society World Wildlife Fund Who were founded with one thing in mind and have been taken over by anti-capitalist radicals who care more about hurting the economy than any call for true Conservancy of nature. The only "green" that drives them in the "green" of money. Their war chests are huge and make anything spent on the side of truth in the Global Warming debate pale in comparison.

This post actually proves that you don't know what you are talking about. Of course, when convenient, you are going to lump everybody in the sciences you don't agree with...with Greenpeace etc. I mentioned in a previous post that mainstream scientists in the natural sciences have always considered Greenpeace (among some others) as an activist group that sometimes uses shaky data to generate funding. Kind of like your guy Moore. The Nature Conservancy works directly with the hunting and fishing community, some mineral extraction, the building industry etc. in an effort to create some consensus on TNC properties. In other words they allow uses that may not be popular with the membership, but understand the big picture in getting things done. My neighbor who flies the "Don't tread on Me" flag 24/7 loves them because they have preserved some of his deer hunting areas from development.... and they allow hunting. Look I know this $#!+ because I am in the business and have done plenty of work for TNC. Your posts about the environment are always predictable. You see a black white world with no nuance and no gray areas. The greatest scientists of our time and most creative Americans have thrived in those areas.... not so much from the far Right.
