There won't be any fire Rocky talk because SDSU will still win 7 to 8 games in a bad conference and go to a minor bowl again.

Michigan lost to Utah. Hoke is done. His dream job turned into a nightmare.
Jim Harbaugh isn't getting along with management in San Francisco, so you have to wonder if Michigan ends up with their first choice after all, just a few years later.

Rocky is doing just fine. Hoke is a goner. Like, this week maybe.

Rocky is doing just fine. Hoke is a goner. Like, this week maybe. Maybe. If Michigan is content with an, "Interim," Head Coach. You know they're thinking Harbaugh. Keeping Hoke until the end of the year won't make things any worse, unless they really believe that an interim head coach could do a better job (and that may be the case, both that they believe it, and that it may be true).

Michigan's recruits are now Hoke's so you see he can't bring in good players. Expectations at Michigan are always high and losing 37-0 to Notre Dame is simply horrible. One of the worst losses in Michigan history.

Short of beating Ohio State and having a miracle turnaround, as others have already stated...Hoke is dead man walking (or in his case waddling)at Michigan.

Rocky Retread is safe, as long as we have Sterky and Hirshy. Those two have minimal interest in football--in my opinion.

I know Brady's favorite food is pizza and every Thursday night, it was Pizza night at the Hoke house when he lived in San Diego, so I was thinking he could open up one of those East Coast transplant pizza joints you see all over San Diego when he gets canned. You know the ones...that say they have "authentic" pizza, just because they are transplants from the East Coast.
His could be called "Wolverine Pizza" so all the Michigan transplants will go there. Mmmm. business opportunity?

I don't think Hoke lasts to the end of the season.

I really can't see it ending any other way. It would appear Harbaugh has about had his fill of the NFL in general and the 'niners in particular. If Michigan plays it the way I think they will, they allow Hoke to finish the season, then aggressively go after their alma mater. And, as it would appear Whittingham is half way to a bowl game at Utah, there'll be no attempt to got after McCoy. This year. As far as Long? I have no doubt this man was hired with minimal expectations and he has exceeded them. Why change? This is fun!

So, we should fire a coach with a winning record and four bowl games as an Aztec? Ha, ha, ha, ha.

I have no doubt this man was hired with minimal expectations and he has exceeded them. Why change? This is fun! I tend to agree with you. Of course, if Michigan continues losing, he could be gone sooner. Michigan has three really tough games left: Michigan State, Penn State, and Ohio State. If he loses all three, I think he is gone. If the Wolverines lose to only one the first two, then beat Ohio State and finish with a bowl win, he's back for 2015. Of course, the way things are going, it would not be a shock if Michigan lost one or more of the "winnable" games. That would only drive the stake deeper. I guess the bottom line is that he is in big trouble, but has not yet run out of cards. It's easy to see why Hoke took the Michigan job when offered. He was willing to take a chance and probably thought he could succeed in Ann Arbor. If he is out, one has to wonder where he would go next. I think the odds are against his taking another head coaching job, since probably the only ones to offer him would be schools far below the level of the Big-10. It might be a case of accepting the job at a San Jose State or nothing. He may not be willing to accept such a come down. Also, he will turn 56 this November (I thought he was about 3 years older than that). That will start working against him, too. Among his other prospects would be taking a turn as a TV analyst. That's what Mack Brown has done. AzWm

Rocky Retread is safe, as long as we have Sterky and Hirshy. Those two have minimal interest in football--in my opinion. Didn't take long for the negativists to come out of the woodwork again. In reality, the PAC 12 has overall better football players than we do. We get three or four recruits a year with offers to PAC 12 bottom teams only and that's the way it is in the MWC. That said, on balance, we are the best we've EVER been in terms of overall talent and, as Jim Herrick, aptly put it, "the best thing that Brady Hoke did for SDSU was to leave us with Rocky." I look for a resurgent season now that we are in conference. And by the way, it is absurd for anyone who follows college athletics to state the president and AD don't care about football. Football is the do all and end all financially. Basketball is a poor second. What you state here is not your "opinion," it is your lack of comprehension of reality, if you are serious that is.
