But what happened to QK? Last year he played pretty darned well.
Dingwell regressed (supposedly due to injury), and now Kaehler has regressed. What's going on?

I have a feeling Toledo is saving face by continuing to play QK. If Bawden replaces QK, then it's an admission that they do not know how to develop talent. The only way Bawden gets to start is if we lose the next few games.

I dont think Rocky or Bob play favorites. If we had a better QB, we would be playing them. They must be weighing having a guy with a better arm but less understanding of the playbook or a QB with better knowledge but no arm. I will be curious how they play out the knee injury to QK this week.

They don't trust the inexperienced guy, so they figure that experience and knowledge trumps arm strength and physical condition. Based on last year and our two losses this year they may have figured incorrectly.

At least put a QB our there that can compete. Of course that would still require an OC that can do his job competently, unlike Toledo.

The headscratcher is why didn't Toledo play Bawden when the game was already decided in the fourth quarter. A few reps in game situation vs. scrimmage is invaluable experience for a freshman.

Considering how miserable the Molehill West is, no way do we change QBs at this point. As was the case last year, Kaehler is plenty competent to defeat the remaining detritis on our schedule. Detritis? I had to look it up. Were you an English major?

If healthy, QK is the starting QB. However, a limping QK should be replaced. He is physically limited as it is, he can't play competently on a bum knee. I was surprised they left him in the game. Yeah after that Mannion interception with a little over 4 minutes left in the game I was expecting to see Bawden. Tolardo has to realize when to throw in the towel and prep for next year.

I thought you guys were crazy when you started questioning QK as QB, but after tonight's poor showing maybe a dose of reality and a few bench splinters will get him to up his game..... Hum

QK is ineffective against Power 5 defenses. We understand Ruffin is out but still too many interceptions. He should be OK against the average MWC defenses, however, Bawden should be given a chance to see what he can do if QK throws another interception.

I think this is when Rocky has to let Toledo know he's the HC, friend or no friend. Toledo is acting like a typical baseball manager. They feel secure playing experienced players over rookies, until the GM steps in.

Is it me or does he just completely suck all the way around. He can't manage a clock or even a huddle, his arm is week, he is clueless, he can't judge or read a defense, he is slow, he has no confidence and we go three and out too much. Give me anything but Quinn Kaehler, please!

There may be a hidden reason why he was a walk on, but in all fairness he did help last year

But what happened to QK? Last year he played pretty darned well. At some point someone has to look at Sipe. That being said I think QK was average last year, he has certainly taken step back from that this year.

No point in burning the Freshman's redshirt now. It will be better for a future to have him that extra year. Plus, QK will do just fin in conference. Boise is our only threat. We very well can go 8-1 the rest of the way, with the division and play in the conference title game.

Blame the staff for piss poor recruiting.

I think it is way to early to tell if he is playing worse that last year or not. Going up against Power5 teams, there is less time to throw and the receivers aren't as open. I'm sure he will be fine against the rest of the teams on our schedule. However, if he is hobbled at all with an injury, he should sit. He does not have enough athleticism/talent to play through an injury.
