Hey, AztecMesa posters! Please, please, please be careful about posting items from subscription sites. I'm sure some of our brethren have subscriptions, but probably most do not. I, personally, would not start a thread based on a subscription site. If you want to do that, okay, but please make clear in your thread intro that only subscribers will be able to read the linked item.

I should add that when beginning threads with links to a subscription site, please include only very brief quotes from the linked item. In the case of the piece of basketball defenses, it's okay to say that SDSU is listed as the 4th best college defense. It would not be okay to quote the entire section devoted to SDSU. It's a question of "fair use." It's somewhat tricky to say what is and what isn't fair use, so be careful. Better to come done on the parsimonious side.

I don't see an issue with posting a small part of the subscription site, there is lots of useful info that I did not share that was written on this insider piece.

A total of 3 sentences about us. About the same for everyone else on the list.
We have a ? at PG since Thames is out. But we return 6 rotation players and add our 4 studs. Says our defensive numbers are similar to VCU even though they get all the hype.

You are absolutely correct; quoting only a small part of a copyrighted piece is fine. I just wanted to take this opportunity to remind everyone of the importance of keeping within the legal limits of publishing material from copyrighted sources. We have not had any problems of this kind, but it doesn't hurt to highlight the issue every once in a while. Remember, if somebody sues, your obedient servant is the one who will have to hire an attorney. WLR

Yes & No answers can suffice re: those insider sites.
