I'm not much of a Chargers fan anymore, after all the bull$#!+ ownership has put it's fans through over the past twenty years. However, after having watched this last Monday night's game, I am convinced that Rivers' best years are now behind him. It's time for the team to start looking to fill his shoes, perhaps this next years draft.

Philip still has 3-4 quality seasons in front of him. You base way too much off one game where there were a half dozen drops, some questionable playcalls and some lousy protection. The Cardinals defense is pretty good. Rivers will throw for 4,000 plus yards and 30 plus touchdowns. You do realize you're talking about one of only three quarterbacks ever to throw 25 or more touchdowns in six straight seasons, right? If Manning and Brady can play at high levels until they are in their late 30's, pretty sure 17 can as well.

He'll be playing at a high level for a few more years, I just don't think they will lead to anything super.

Lindley is now on the Chargers practice squad. If the staff can teach him how to read defenses and avoid picks they might have something.

The way that Rivers played last year and is starting off this season I'd say he's good for at least two more great years at QB.
