Does Melvin make an impact?
Will Rivers 2013 resurgence continue in 2014?
10+ wins?
Any parking lot muggings?

10-6 or better. Freeney being healthy is key. Reich wants to institute more up-tempo, no huddle style of play, which Philip will excel in. Emergence of Keenan Allen and the addition of Brandon Flowers help out on their respective sides of the ball. Pass rush is improved, secondary should be improved with the subtraction of the bust Derek Cox. Expecting big things from this team. On paper, I think they are better than last year's version. Butler, Ingram, Reyes, Te'o and Liuget all 25 or younger. Running back depth has been improved with Donald Brown's signing, taking some of the carries off of Mathews. And the X factor? Ladarius Green, an emerging star at tight end.

The team will have more depth, more speed and be better overall BUT, they won't sneak up on anybody this year, they have a tough schedule, and will fall short of last year's record. Playoffs? Barely in or Barely out w/ 9-7 record.

So bad vs the Seachickens! All I can say is demand for SDSU basketball tickets should increase!

If the adage "Defense Wins Championships" is true, the Chargers have a problem, Houston.

There will always be bandwagon fans ready to jump on with a winner! Just because someone is a pro football fan doesn't mean they like college hoops no matter how good the team is. A few may cross over but there's no tickets.

There will always be bandwagon fans ready to jump on with a winner! as there is with any sports team. I think the overall dysfunction of San Diego Sports, professional and collegiate, created an attrition of fan support over the last few generations. It's hard to be a fan when you see that those in power are not as interested in producing a quality team/program as one would wish. With the recent success of Aztecs Basketball(what a blast), and the football teams steady progression into respectability(I'm happy), things could change. But it will take a decade or two to repair the damage that the last twenty years has seen. AJ Smith, yes, he did have his successes in the draft, met a steep decline in his ability to gauge talent, which suggests he may have been getting lucky with the picks he made that were worked out... or, unlucky with the ones that he missed on. In any event, it all points to luck as far as his selections were concerned. He dismantled one of the more talented teams the NFL had seen up to that point. anyhow, I dont want to beat a dead horse. I don't even want to get started on the Padres and the last 15 years. as far as San Diego sports go, I'm still hanging in there with SDSU, and the Padres(call me crazy). If the Chargers ever win a super bowl, I will cheer them on, but I can't say anything more than that. cheers.

Okay another POC pre season game by the Chargers. SDSU faithful should start saving $$ to help buy the Qualcomm site. Mission Valley is gonna smell like it did when it was home to dairy farms & copious cow pies! JMO

If you've seen Seattle ' s running game dismantle every team's defense so far why does it matter what we do. Seahawks remind me so much of Marty ball days, anything from the passing game was just gravy.

This is the year the Chargers Defense comes of age. They are young and the investment the Chargers have made in the draft the past few years will pay off with a dominant pass rush. Ingram, Liuget, Te'o, Reyes, Butler and Freeney will pressure the QB and with the changes in the coverage rules a successful defense will need to be able to do that.
Rivers, Allen, Matthews, Green, Gates and Woodhead will make plays, the O Line will be in the upper half of the league.
If the team stays healthy, 12-4.....
