Not being able to evaluate one's situation accurately can cause lots of problems. Obama, who rode a wave of factors all in his favor a year ago (his "charisma" [sorry, I don't see it myself, but apparently others can], Republican mistakes, the economic meltdown, a generally friendly press, even his color, etc.) to gain the presidency, seems to have decided that the time was right to "transform" America. Well, he and his followers did not evaluate their situation accurately. Fred Barnes is pretty much on target. He missed a couple things, but for the most part has nailed what will be the chink in the Dems armour in 2010 and his ticket out of town in 2012.
