Never thought much of Dallas and Houston. Austin on the other hand is one of a handful of places I'd move to if I had to leave San Diego. I think the good days of Texas are coming to an end because too many people from California are moving there and are going to ruin the state.

When will your wife breakdown and let you move to Texas? Sorry to say that Texas and Montana are out of the question.

When will your wife breakdown and let you move to Texas? Per marriage equality thread, should Win's marriage be void due to menopause/Viagra concerns?

The hill country outside Austin is absolutely gorgeous. And the Woodlands outside of Houston is fantastic also. Great golf and really nice, affordable homes. The weather here is , to me, the only positive over Texas. In a few years I will be calling some realtors down there.

Around San Antonio you can get a 4 or 5 BR 3000SF home for about 300K on a golf course. Want to spend a million and take care of a really nice place? That is the place to go. I agree with all who say the weather is the only thing about California that is better. That and the idea that my family is here and my wife won't budge.

I stayed at the Dominion Golf Club and great food. Rudy's BBQ was excellent, but Coopers up in Llano is a little better. Anyways, the homes were nice around the golf course and surrounding area.
