WTH will you do next year when NMSU has 2 of these behemoths on the floor?? ... feel sorry for the poor WAC teams who have to play them. With any kind of luck, we don't have to face Andre and Andre Jr. again. And that kid Nephawe was a hell of a load himself!

We needed to get WS out of the game with 5 min to go like we have the last 5 or 6 games. He is at his worst at crunch time and really lazy on D. How does his man get 2 open shoots when everyone knew he was chuckin?

Gottlieb kept commenting the lack of killer instinct with our team.
Yeah, that killer instinct is playing for the Grizzlies now.
Oldie Out

The ONLY thing that could have hurt the Aztecs at that point are: (1) a three point shot made; (2) a 100% foul shooter fouled attempting a 3 pointer; or a (3) and-one. Shepard should have been on the guy like glue and forced him to dribble; either fouling on the ground like they did in OT, or contesting the shot without fouling. Both Shepard and O'Brien played awful man defense down the stretch.

How does his man get 2 open shoots when everyone knew he was chuckin? Shep 1H: 0-3 FG, 2 Assists, 1 TO 2H: 3-7 FG, 1-2 3FG, 0 Assists, 2 TOs OT: 0-1 FG Game: 3-11 FG, 1-2 3FG, 0-0 FT, 0 Rebs, 2 assists, 3 TOs Surprised he didn't get to the FT line or secured any rebounds. Needs to work on the shot selection and not get baited into taking 'open' threes. Be consistent on the midrange J before attempting the long ball.

First game jitters are behind us. We win by 15 on Saturday. Thanes is not done playing college ball yet. He will put the team on his back and carry them through the next game. The 6th mane will become the 2nd man and go off on Sat. We all new the big guys would give us trouble. But we survived, and now we are going to rule.

Fish is a great guy...just a lousy bench coach...this game stunk! Thank God we had enough talent this year to win at least 30 games in spite of Fish being a lousy coach!

I think this game helps us for Saturday. I love that people are talking up NDSU. Our guys will be ready to play. Agreed, everyone not an Aztec fan is now going to be rooting for/picking ND to win and we are now back to where we're most comfortable: disrespected and an afterthought.

Can people stop with this psychoanalytical drivel? None of this matters... All that really is germane to this upcoming game is that a top-10 defense and sub-100 offense is going up against a top-20 offense and sub-100 defense. And recently, offense is what wins in the first weekend. Lots of empirical reasons to be nervous because of the players on the floor.
