Losing 1-0 to the Flubs tonight just about sank the Pads. What a waste after leading the league most of the way they took gas with that 10 game slide & it looks over!

Just disgusting. Sure, I pegged us to win 70-75 games, but the complete lack of offense is so pathetic.
If we had just won 3 of those 10 we lost in a row, we'd be tied with SF going into this series. Now, we need a small miracle.
I picked the Giants to win the west back in August, but I didn't want it to happen.

Sure, it's very dissapointing, but if you had told me at the beginning of the season that the Padres, a team with the second lowest payroll in all of the majors, and a team with a bunch of young, inexperienced players, etc..... would be in contention for a playoff spot, I would've been ecstatic.
I'm just happy they've kept me interested the WHOLE season, but yes, a dissapointing finish unless they squeek into the playoffs. It's just how I've chosen to look at it.

Hey they win tonight and I think the Giants start to feel a lot more pressure then the Padres do right now.

Makes me sick to my stomach to think about it! What a s#!++y September. Could be worse - you could be a Rockies fan. Everyone seemed sure the Rockies were the team of destiny this year. After having a big deficiet in the first half of the season, the Rockies got within a game of the Padres right before the all-star break. They had one game left against the Padres at home. They lost to go 2 games back. After the all-star break they tanked and fell to 11 games back. Again they made a great charge to get within 1.5 games only to lose 12 of their last 13 games. That is what tanking is.

The Pads had a good run. They played above their talent level, and gave us reasons to go to the ballpark after July, which is more than you could have said last year.
If they want to challenge again next year, and bring in more fans than came in this year, they damn well better try and get a decent bat or two to pair with Adrian.
If they do nothing to the offense, don't expect season ticket sales to go through the roof.
It was a fun season. I think Bud Black did a great job.

Speaking of managers, Bruce Bochy has increased his win total every season from the year before, as the Giants skipper.
He's done a good job there. I always liked Boch, I hope the Giants beat Atlanta.
