So what Sid...the guy is an intelligent "moderate" who has opinions and thinks things through. Some of the guys on here see only see two Americas (like FOX news) drawn along the lines of "Conservatives" versus "Liberals"... the US is much more complex than that.

I don't watch TV, except for sports and sometimes Discovery, National Geographic, History, and the like. Maybe I should start watching "Fox News". Or, are you referring to the talking opinion heads on their channels? I hear "Fox News" on the radio occasionally, and I am not aware that they tell the events of the day any different than the others do. If you are trying to conflate the news presented by "Fox News" with the talking opinion heads on the "Fox" channels... I'll pass. If you can provide an example of "Fox News" distorting something on the top of the hour news reports, I'd be interested in learning about it.

Once I decided that I had to get in role for being a Born Again Liberal I had to deliberately avoid Fox anything.

You'd seriously never heard of Jon Stewart until recently? He's been a fairly famous name since like 1996.

If you have no exposure to his show you don't understand that he mocks everyone in politics. When you are ignorant your opinion means little, davesid.

Here's a good summary of Jon Stewart. He's a comedian. He hosts a comedy show on Comedy Central. It is very political in nature, but still a satirical comedy show at its heart. They mock anyone and everyone, and usually in an intelligent manner. He is a liberal, and the Daily Show DOES heavily lean left, there's no denying that. But again, it's on Comedy Central and has no real obligation to stay neutral (although really, it's much more neutral than some will give credit for). He's a pretty smart dude who is well-informed, and from what people have said over the years, he's a great guy in general. You don't have to agree with him, but that doesn't make him an asshat.

Okay, fair enough... I don't watch any of that sort of stuff on TV, and seriously had never heard of him. Other than the stuff I mentioned above (History, National Geo, Discovery, etc.) about the only thing I care to watch is Football. I even prefer to listen to baseball on the radio, rather than watch it on TV. I grew up with the immortal Vin Scully, and there just seems to be some magic in listening to a good sportscaster call a game on the radio. Even though the Pads-Giants were on TV, I opted for the radio today. Still alive! Go Pads, and go Philllies!

Once I decided that I had to get in role for being a Born Again Liberal I had to deliberately avoid Fox anything. Ah, but Joe, one must always keep up with the opposition. I view Fox regularly. The hard news reporting by Fox is good. When you get to Beck and Hannity, that is another matter. They have an agenda and are pretty much up front about that. One must use a variety of sources and with the knowledge so learned evaluate talking heads appropriately. AzWm

Hardly a "moderate", but very funny and smart.

I have to hand it to Davesid for holding his tongue. I would have replied something like "Arrogance displayed in that comment comes closer to ignorance" than does not being exposed to a relatively obscure comic.

He's definitely not "relatively obscure." Not even close.
