Although they were ahead by 7, 8, and at one point by 15 points, the Vista Panthers went cold in the fourth quarter and allowed the Fallbrook Warriors to come very close. It looked like the Warriors' hot-shooting Kurtis Pilbin (high point man with 22) had won it for Fallbrook when, with almost no time left, he drove to the hoop and scored a 2. But no! The ref called him for a travel, and the Panthers held on.
Final score: 43-42.
This has been a rough year for Vista, but the Panthers, with some injured players back in action, have now won two in a row. Vista got into foul trouble when their tallest player, starter Carston Nyenhuis, got his fourth foul at the end of the first half. He sat out the entire third quarter, but played the fourth with no further fouls.
