Stan Kroenke, owner of the St Louis Rams, has purchased a 60 acre site in Inglewood that was previously owned by Wal Mart. Could he be planning to bring the Rams back to L.A.? Could the Chargers somehow get involved in that plan as a second tenant? Or has any leverage the Chargers might have had with the City of San Diego just gone up in smoke?

LA is being used as leverage against the city of St. Louis right now, not San Diego. Upcoming elections will affect the stadium situation here more than this report.
As far as I'm concerned, Kroenke has been eyeing LA for a few years. Lots of evidence to prove it, including his revolutionary and costly renovation plan for the dome in St. Louis and his bid to buy the Dodgers.
I still see San Diego and the Chargers agreeing on a stadium plan, one that probably taxes tourists more than city residents. The Qualcomm site will be sold, along with the Sports Arena land.
SDSU, regardless of the city stadium plan, will only be admitted into a P5 when they clean up their football image. They need a winning program and state-of-the-art on-campus facilities; a stadium.

You got a city that yawns at the prospect of another NFL team, and a city that yawns at the prospect of keeping their current NFL team. Certainly, this ain't dumpwater.
