Another interesting opinion and presentation of facts as we think we know them. I have been saying for years that models are only as good as the parameters set match actual conditions and include all conditions. That can not be done in something this complex. My view is that we are just in another sub cycle that is part of many such cycles that are super imposed on each other and so complex that we can't possibly predict what will happen with any certainty. That said, we do need to be responsible about what we do to take care of our environment, but lets not get stupid like Algore and his followers.

The sun with its "solar cycles" is, I believe, the 800 pound gorilla when it comes to weather patterns. So, if the sun is the major culprit and not CO2, we may be throwing dollars at the idea of global warming for decades to come. That said, I would love to be free of those robed bearded cavemen in the middle east and their fossil fuel. I'm crossing my fingers for the key to be found for unlocking "fusion" in the near future. Fusion is the "Holy Grail" of energy production. In the meantime, its solar panels, wind, etc.

Thinking that we can control the weather by mandating fractional reductions in carbon usage in only some of the nations on earth smacks of the gnat that crawls up the leg of an elephant with intentions of rape.
The global warming issue, if it is at all man made, is a by-product of population in general and not the largess of the American economy. Our economy is providing for worldwide demands. Sure, you can cripple the US economy with cap and trade but someone else in the 2nd world will fill that gap left open by that economic injury and will likely not be limited in their carbon emissions. Absolutely foolish.
We are on a number of Government Power slippery slopes with cap and trade and I'm of the opinion that the following generations would be better off with maintaining or increasing economic freedom while enduring higher temperatures as opposed to having less economic freedom and enduring higher temperatures regardless. And wait until totalitarian population control, including mass genocides, is encouraged once "liberal" Governments believe that carbon reductions in the 1st and 2nd world economies aren't just quite getting it done.

“Climates always change. They always have and they always will. They are driven by a number of factors that are random and cyclical.”
