Sound familiar?
Our game day "experience" is a joke...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I just got back from another fun weekend in Pullman....until the game started, of course. If the announced crowd was 24,000, I can promise you that there were no more than 15K fans in attendance. Those that were there (myself included) were just going through the motions. What a sad and pathetic program we've become. The Field House was dead. The RV lot was dead. The player/band march through campus before the game drew about 50 people.
I'll post my staff criticisms later, but do you what really pissed me off more than anything? Ferdinand's was closed at 5:00PM on Friday and only opened from 8:00AM to Noon on Saturday. It was 80 degrees, USC was in town, and I couldn't even take my kids for an ice cream cone after the game. It's another example of just how poorly thought out our football weekends are. Ferdinand's is one of our most identifiable brands on campus. You'd think that we'd have ice cream vendors selling $5 cones and capitalizing on it. Instead, it closes down before the game starts.
WSU is so messed up right now. The product on the field sucks. The atmosphere sucks. The marketing sucks. There's nothing else on campus to do besides watch us lose by 50 points. On Friday, we went down to Boyer Park for a picnic. It was nice. Made me forget about how poorly run the WSU athletic department is. Moos has yet to make a difference at all in that regard. In fact, I think things are getting worse.
