Yes, it would be great to be in a bowl. But I'm afraid winning that bowl game could be very tough. We'd likely be facing a school with a much stronger team. Perhaps we'd be better off ending up 6-6 with a good feeling to tide us over the cold (cold? In San Diego? :  Winter. Many fans will dispute my reasoning. And I admit that should we go to a bowl and actually win, our status would improve immeasurably. Right now, however, I think a bowl invitation this season (with Brown out) might well be a mixed blessing. AzWm |

I couldn't agree more. In fact, I don't think any team that is a mere 6-6 deserves to go to a bowl.

Winning would be better, but getting a bowl this early in Hokes time at SDSU would be huge. One of the big things about a bowl game is you get 2 to 3 weeks extra practice time. This is a big advantage. Also, in recruiting, it would show that Hoke really has the team going in the right direction. As bad as we were last year, getting to a bowl, whether we win or lose would be a huge leap forward for the program. |

It goes a looooooong way in regards to recruiting, and a potential hike in attendance next year.

Going to the Poinsettia Bowl would be tough. The PAC-10 #6 team is better than UCLA and the Bruins beat us for the millionth time earlier this season. New Mexico Bowl would be more winnable.

No matter if you win or lose, the extra practice time that you get is golden not to mention the exposure for recruiting reasons.
