We MUST win this game! An obviously improved Aztecs team at home against a winless team struggling so badly that their HC was suspended (though that suspension has now ended)? That has to add up to a win, and quite likely a decisive one at that.
Losing to the Lobos this Saturday would be very bad indeed and for two or three reasons. However, I expect a win by two TDs or more. In a sense, this will be a great test for Hoke's ability to coach a football team. Last week they came back to beat a team, on the road, against which they were underdogs. Now it's their chance to follow that up with a win against a team they are supposed to beat! Remember how the Aztecs have long had trouble doing that?
Best of all, a win Saturday makes 6-6 a definite possibility. That is a vital goal to reach, largely because a .500 season will make recruiting easier.

I am more confident about this game than any in a long time.

It's kinda hard to be so confident about beating the Lobos after they gave us one of the worst thrashings in school history just last season.
Yes, we are improving, and they have dropped...
...but, still...
I'm picking a close Aztec win, and that's only because of home field.

I think the Aztecs by 10 - 20 points. I think the Lowblows will have a little extra motivation seeing their former general on the sidelines and will want to show him.
