Jim Livengood said. "We look like each other as institutions"
you are the company you keep, sadly

Also, I'd love to see the receipt of whichever LDS company sold Craig Thompson some stupid software to make a football schedule. The f'n guy constantly talks about a computer making his schedule.

Because that thing is going to be hidden from view.

Quite honestly Craig Thompson should be fired. Every year he has been our commissioner he has lost revenue on the TV contract. CT is the equivalent of Norv Turner, he wins some battles but loses the big ones.

I'm not at all sure the MWC's TV deal with ESPN or whomever will have to see the light of day. ESPN certainly doesn't have to produce it and the MWC isn't itself a public entity, simply a private one with public members. So it probably depends on how the relevant legislation in Colorado reads.
As to the front rangers running things, it's been refreshing to read the MWC board and see some Rebels and CSUF fans who aren't toeing the party line about the conference now being so wonderful that nobody will ever think of leaving again. That argument is all Wyoming-CSU-AFA horse pucky which originates from the first two having no chance of being courted by another conference and the third one never wanting to leave its Sherpa blood brothers behind.

For future MBB basketball tournament format, I would like to see a 10 team single elimination tournament. You would have two play in games on tuesday, 1st round thursday (8 teams), 2nd round Friday(4 teams), and championship game on Saturday (2 teams). This would help us bump up rpi and the bottom five teams would be force to be competitive the entire season. The last place team would stay at home and receive no conference tournament revenue.

Not surprisingly, the BE has it back asswards. They need to get Tulsa board and THEN they'll be able to get their TV deal done. And I hope they do so before Hair Thompson talks the majority of his bosses into adding Tulsa and UTEP and dividing the MWC's TV scooter pie into 14 pieces.

CT is the equivalent of Norv Turner ... I didn't think it would be possible to truly insult Norv Turner, but you just did.

Everyone participates, but follow something like what the BE does (or did): The 9-11 teams all have what amounts to a play-in tournament. The team left standing moves on to play the #1 seed. The rest goes on as normal.

Dividing 8-12m between 12 or 14 isn't going to make a bit of difference. Hell, at this point, move Kustra U to the west, guarantee home and homes with your football conference in bball and go to 14, keeps us out of the mountains.

Tulsa's gonna go to the BE and that's great because they simply don't bring much. Really, Tulsa is a pauper's Boise State. Football and absolutely nothing else and they aren't nearly as good at it. If UTEP could bring the Sun Bowl, I'd be fine with adding the Minors and UT-San Antonio. As you pointed out months ago, Thompson screwed up by not moving on UTSA and then having the Roadrunners or whatever they're called join CUSA instead. However, since then CUSA has become SBC 2.0 (emphasis on the zero). The MWC could use a presence in eastern Texas for football recruiting if nothing else. And don't call me "Oh" either.

The last section of the LVRJ article once more exposes the lie told by the MWC that maybe we “didn’t have the votes” to get back in. All that playing-hard-to-get stuff was a joke. Once Sterk announced the final decision you could hear corks popping all over the Rockies.
The liar now is Coyle, talking about a renewed commitment by all the schools, and excitement for the future. Please. At least Hirshman didn’t make any such bogus noises in his fluff piece the other day. His final paragraph essentially said, "We're in the MWC until we can find another way to get out."
