Saw some of the games. Utah is not up to last year's level, but are still plenty good. CSU is pretty good, too. If we beat either we will have reason to celebrate big time!
BYU really drilled UNLV. The Rebs collapsed after trailing 24-14. The Cougars look slow to me, but that observation could be faulty. At any rate, if we beat BYU it will be a genuine upset. UNLV is another matter. Unless we are killed by injuries we will have a good chance to win in Vegas.
But can we reach the 5 win mark? To do that we must beat Wyoming (and don't forget, the Cowboys are WINNING these days) and NMU, PLUS one away game. That will be tough.
My bottom line is that Aztec fans may have to wait until at least 2011 before making plans to attend an S.D.S.U. bowl game. Yes, we are making some progress, but there is a long way to go before rising even to the middle of the MWC pack.

PS: In the WAC, San Jose State is sinking fast and may again have to worry about FB program cancellation. On the other hand, Idaho is rising. They are 5-1 and have a good chance of reaching 7-5 this year with a bowl invitation as a reward. Go figure!

The MWC is very interesting this year.
We have BYU and TCU in the Top 25 and Utah banging on the door.
The middle teams (CSU and Wyoming) are starting to look better.
I really like this conf. right now.

SDSU can beat CSU.......we'll need a couple of turnovers but it is doable. The game of the year is a week from Saturday in Fort Collins. That would give us three wins and we should be favorites against Wyoming, New Mexico and UNLV. Hoke needs a great game plan to beat these guys.
