I think this has been brought up before, but what the hell, I'll bring it up again. Watching the game last night, I noticed that the SaveMart Center has a lower bowl like Viejas, then what appears to be box suites above that. Any of you architects think that would be plausible here? Would it be worth it?

Should develop part of the bench seats into boxes. Would be huge income producer for the program I would think.

Anything is possible. But I think the combination of the cost plus the fact that the department has much more pressing capital needs points to any renovation of Viejas as highly unlikely.

I literally wanted to throw my TV off the wall. (only when the aztecs are struggling, I seemed to care more about the view during those times lol)

Thats what I am kinda hinting at. Would the revenue make it worth it. As far as from a spectator standpoint, I think it would be fantastic.

Thats what I am kinda hinting at. Would the revenue make it worth it. Probably not worth it. Our tickets prices are dirt cheap. If you're a spectator who can afford a box, sure. For the normal Joe sportsfan, addition of luxury boxes or seating usually comes at the expense of reduced general seating and a drastic increase in cost.

And then followed it up three possessions later saying, "the Aztecs have not been able to get good possessions all game and are not getting good shots."

I think preliminary exploration should take place, however, let's wait until we've got a decade of Top-25 finishes under our belts before spending so much (on a low priority as others noted) when a decade from now SDSU may look more like the 2000 team than the 2010 team -- not being pessimistic, just realistic. The basketball blue bloods have the roots that SDSU is starting to grow.

If we take in the 37 cents a game that we would get in the MGC, how would we afford this? Let alone a new practice facility.

How about 10 consectutive 20-game seasons and 5 consectutive 25+ seasons...oh wait...that means the expanded arena needs to be ready next year... Damn...we better get going!!

I actually really liked the view on tv. Wasnt a fan myself. Games on ESPN have much better angles. the broadcaster of the show has no bearing on the placement of the cameras. the cameras are where the cameras are.
